well he wasn't really thinking. he just thought "I am better father than Niles" and basically tried to act like him being alive wasn't that big of a deal and wanting to intigrate in clara's life again immediately. yeah. it was always gonna end badly.

It really didn't matter how he said it because he said something that only she would know, proving he's her father, but she still called the cops on him, denying it, because she doesn't want to believe her father is some guy in a robot suit, she's the problem here not him

I mean...... Imagine being ripped away from the opportunity to raise your child and after being years apart from him/her due to being mislead into thinking your child is dead and then the moment you realize you were being deceived, you go to see your child, find out your going to be a grandparent and that your child doesn't want you there right now in the span of a 2 minute conversation (of course, your child would need time to process what the hell just happened but as a parent you would want to be able to be there with them). So technically we all would have had a very similar response if we were in that situation.
