How are these bags different from the sloan? Is it just the smooth leather or something else?

McKenzie hobo are smooth leather bags.

Oh I forgot to mention. Sloan handbags are made from pebble grain leather or Florentine leather. And McKenzie hobo is a smooth leather hobo. It’s not Florentine leather or pebble grain leather. But the smooth leather of the McKenzie hobo you can carry it no matter how the weather is. It’s a bag you don’t have to worry about the weather. And it’s a really large bag. I think the Sloan is available medium size bag. I’m not sure. I don’t have own one in my collection yet but I plan to. 😊❤️

Hi. I can try to help answer as I have both. Dooneygirl75 is right about the leather and size differences. I would add my Florentine Sloan has a smaller opening and a braided handle that sits shorter to the shoulder. For me the the McKenzie equestrian style strap I prefer. It's softer and flexible and the bag, although much larger, molds to my body just great. I love how roomy inside it is. I enjoy carrying them both but I would say McKenzie is my favorite.
