I’ve been looking forward to this video! I fell in love with my Florentine Brenna in Red because it’s perfectly smooth, so I ordered a Florentine Satchel in Red and it was pebbled, but evenly. Definitely a different texture, I’m not sure why. The Florentine differs from bag to bag, and some colors seem to be better than others. All 3 of my Steel Blue Florentine bags are all perfectly smooth. And they’re softer and more matte like your Pale Blue bag. It’s interesting, and once you learn how they can differ, you can either accept what you get or some people are very particular of how they want their Florentine bags to look. And that’s understandable, you pay a lot of money for these things and you expect it to be a certain way. I do like that when I buy bags on the secondhand market I can see pictures of the bags instead of getting the luck of the draw when I order online from Dooney and even QVC.

Interesting! Yes, I totally agree that it’s kind of the luck of the draw, but certain colors seem to have similar characteristics. I bought my black satchel used from EBay for the reasons you mentioned 😊 I wanted one that was thicker and shiny! So happy I did, I got a great deal, too.

@@VintageSac I just ordered a Brown Tmoro satchel from eBay for a great price and it’s very shiny. I bought it there because Dooney said mine was on backorder. So I wanted to secure the bag before I cancelled the one from Dooney. Now they say it’s going to ship. Before I send it back I want to compare the two. I’ll let you know how it goes!

@@VintageSac I have both bags and took quite a few photos if you’d like to see them. Do you have an IG or FB where I can send them to you? I’ve actually decided to keep the newer one from Dooney and will probably re-list the older style, since it makes no sense to have two of the same bag. It cleaned up really well, but I feel like the previous owners used saddle soap or something on it, the handles are dull and feel like they have a film on them. It could just be the age of the bag, I’m not sure, it has the leather key keeper leash. I’ve never seen one of those in person before, it’s pretty neat.

Great review!👍 I was pretty sure the dye type had an effect on the resulting leather, but like mentioned, the prepping process is very involved, and you never know what results you might end up with. Hopefully, your blue Florentine ages beautifully.🤞 TFS.😊

Great informational video! I don’t own one of these yet, but can you tell me how do you condition them? What product do you use and how please?

Thanks! I try to only use a light liquid conditioner, instead of a balm. Intend to use Coach leather conditioner or Lexol ☺️I just wipe it on, let it dry for a day, and buff. I don’t use very much, but it really helps!

Honestly, I prefer the Florentine 😎 I mean, you can’t dunk it and it’s lined, but the smell is addicting and it just feels like the thickest, most luxurious leather. And you know I love my vintage Coach…
