Thank you SOOOOOOO much for this video! I'm like you and use my bags anytime, any season! However, I live in the Pacific Northwest, and despite global warming trends over the last several years, we still get a bit more rain than most. So as a result, many of my Florentine babies, specifically my strawberry medium satchel, don't get as much use as I'd like! Of course, I have a few darker satchels, but strawberry is my all time fave! LOL... Anywho, thanks for this tip, and I'll be making an Amazon purchase tonight! LOL

Pecan Tan Thanks so much for your videos on conditioners and repellents . The joy of owning anything is to take very good care of it. I really like the Bick 4 and the water & stain protectant. I am new to Dooney . I have my favorites already The Clayton, Smith, Kristen Tote, Twist Strap Hobo, 2 kiss lock purses and a Dopp Kit i am good to go with Dooney for a long time I really like my choices. I was wondering if you had a video on using leather conditioner? Not sure if you use them or not, but at the beginning, you mentioned you had already conditioned your bags... just not sure HOW you condition them.. PS I still LOOOOVE your orange Dillen Chelsea bag.!!!... I am 4 years after the fact, I now realize, but I only discovered that beauty just weeks ago! I discovered the name thanks to your detailed video!! Please have a big smile for me the next time you wear it and have a smidget thought for me! Also, do you have any solutions for deep scratches on a Florentine Clayton bag? I just got one recently and it would seem the previous owner had a buckle or something dong some real damage! The bag is still beautiful though and it is amazing to watch the light scratches melt away as I just rub them off. Boy do I have a new found love for Florentine leather! I think I have officiall become a Looni Dooni!!!

Hi there… for the spray, I only use it one time when I first get a bag. I make sure to do about 3 coats, letting it dry in between each coat. Conditioner, I do each bag about every 9 months to a year. It just depends on the bag. You can tell if it’s dry and need conditioning. I'm wondering the same thing. Once it's sprayed do you feel comfortable taking your natural out even if it's raining? I live in the Pacific North West and it rains most of the year. I have a black florentine and have had no trouble with rain drops. But i would like to add a natural to my collection and NOT be restricted to only wear it in the summer. I just had to dispute Dooney for a Natural Hattie because I didn’t put protectant on it and two rain drops would not come out. I’ve heard a lot of people say once they put protectant on it the rain just falls off it

Excellent info and tutorial. And perfectly timed, since I just purchased a bag on ebay that looks like will need a little spiffing up lol. Quesiton: once the repellent is applied, does it actually repel color transfer? Example, brand new dark jeans won't rub off on a bone flo? Thank you for the info/tutorial!

Here I am with another question. Per your great advice I turned on to Apple products - thank you!. Except for my Toscana bags (fearful!), I condition all my flo & pbl bags. I've now acquired AWL bags. Do you put Apple Conditioner on your AWL bags or just leave them be?

Oh cool… I’m glad you tried the conditioner. I agree on the Toscana. I don’t condition those because mine never need it. I only have a wallet though. I’m not a huge fan of it because it scratches easily and they don’t rub out. I have conditioned my AWL very lightly but I normally don’t have to. If I do, I don’t add more conditioner, I just use what’s left on the rag to touch those up. I hope that makes sense. 😊🦆

Not on the leather but on the inside. It came that way from QVC. I guess moisture had gotten to it. I got a replacement though. It's been awhile. 💚ThePecanTannedBeauty 💚

Good to know that doesn't happen just that one time on the inside. I store my bags in my closet that is right off of my bathroom. I run the exhaust when showering because most of the time I leave my closet door open. So far only one go the white mold on it but it wasn't a dooney. It was a smooth Brighton leather. Maybe it got wet before I stored it. It washed off though.

I sprayed the Apple rain and stain on a steel blue bag. Then I accidentally spilled COFFEE on my bag. I was shocked when it just wiped off leaving NO stain. I am sold on this stuff for my bags!

Shirley Saxton Hey sweetie!!! For me, it depends on the bag if I use both. If it’s a light colored bag, I use both. If not, I only use the conditioner. I most all the time use both on my handles to help protect against dirt. I hope that helps a little! xoxo... PTB 😍

How do you protect florentine leather in the color bone? Do you use the same conditioner? I heard that with the color bone, the conditioner can darken it. Yuppers, I would never use anything on my natural leather products. I used to use a COACH conditioner on my COACH but afraid to do anything to my D&B products since they said not to (on their website, on ILV, and Sue on QVC). I will treat them bags and accessories better than I would my own children - meaning I will take the utmost care on all my stuff. Gave You your thumb up here on KZbin.

Yeah, it's about personal preference. I treat my leather like my own skin (which is what leather is) and want to protect it. Trust me, if I felt it wasn't safe, I would not chance it on my $400+ bags. Those products are specifically made for leather, so I trust to use it. I did not put anything on my Natural Hattie and carried her for only a week and got two rain drops on her that did not come out. Luckily I disputed it through BBB and got my bag replaced seeing the site says you don’t have to use anything and when it gets wet once dried it returns to its original color. So if I was you I’d definitely use something

I recently purchased a pebbled domed satchel off ebay in great used condition. But I am very sensitive to smells and thus bag really smells like the previous owner. It's either her perfume or lotion...im not sure...do you have any suggestions on how to get rid of this type of odor? I just purchased a new and beautiful Chanel Lambskin Boy bag in a light warm peachy beige color. I was told NOT to put ANYTHING on the bag. They said no lotion no spray. I'm into preventive care and I feel not doing ANYTHING as far as maintenance care for leather will only take you so far. I used Kate Spade Leather Conditioner because no waxes are used, which is good for lambskin I was told. Now I need water and stain protection. Do you recommend using the Apple Garde on Chanel light color lambskin?
