Hi Laurie! Just throwing this idea out there. Why don't you use your maple leaf DB as a "vase" for a fall decor piece. Open it all the way up and put some floral foam in the bottom. You are so good at arrangements I'm sure you could find some dried or silk that would look great. Maybe even add some eucalyptus...I like the smell some people don't. Yesss, unfortunately I have a really tough time with my Dooneys and as beautiful as they are, I could never tolerate the weight of the bags after putting my things in them, they are heavy when they are empty. The leaf bag is a real beauty. I actually thought maybe it would be good for me to build up some muscle tone by using them. I hope Nicole heals up quickly.

Same happened to me. I have Dooney and Bourke bags just sitting in my closet. I’ve been holding out hoping they won’t seem so heavy but so far no luck! It’s a shame as they are really beautiful bags. I will be parting with mine soon because at this point I just feel bad seeing them collect dust.

I am 58, and for as long as I can remember, leather bags and wallets have been the only thing for me. I've had so many Dooneys, and my family has teased me forever about it. I've even had two Louis Vuittons. I loved those. However, now, I only have one Dooney. I just can not part with it, but I can't carry it anymore, and I have my key pouch from LV that I use every day. I just can't do the heavy bags anymore. I think you are smart to wait on your bag. You have always loved that bag, and it's not hurting anything to sit there and look beautiful. Pull it out each fall and make her part of your decorations.

I had Fossil bags for many years and a few other leather bags. Now I only have Kipling and am always impressed with their quality (love their zippers!) and how light they are when carrying. I could never wear something heavy now due to my shoulder pain. I know you love the leaf pattern of your handbag but I couldn't carry it either. Blessings to you and PooDoo dog!

I have a closet full of Dooneys. Same issue. I have been using my Vera Bradley bags. By the way, they have rebranded. So if you want any of the older styles they still have some on Amazon and they put them on their outlet site under last call. I have picked up a few new ones and some accessories for ones I have. I have to figure out what to do with my Dooney bags. I hate selling on EBay, but I might have to. In the past I have donated them to our local hospice store.

❤ I'm so sorry Laurie 😞 I have tendinitis in both shoulders oh my gosh, I can't hardly carry anything on either shoulder when it flares up 🥺 I have 4 different colors in the crossbody fanny pack purses and I love them!! 🤗🤗 they fit everything I need to carry including my phone. I carry them with the clasp in front so I can take it off instead of putting it over my head to get it on and off. I extend the strap all the way so it's not up on my chest 😦 I had some beautiful beautiful doonies, Fossil , MK, and Coach bags oh it broke my heart to get rid of them. 😢 I hope you decide to keep it and display it for fall, then next year decide whether or not you want to hold onto it if you're still not able to carry it. It truly is a beautiful bag!! Tfs 💞 enjoy your evening. Oh Ps... I'll be 48 Dec 20th and I've not been able to carry the heavier bags for the last 5 yrs. 😕

I’m 63 and I also do not like to carry heavy bags! I’ve gotten rid a lot of my Dooley and coach because they are just to heavy, I’ve also stopped carrying so much stuff I don’t need.

Do you ever use the Kipling floral Lovebug backpack you bought? I bought the same one after you showed yours and I used it for months until I bought the Kipling Lovebug in green. The Kipling backpacks are the lightest and fit sooo much stuff!! I got rid of most all of my Dooneys as well. I have 2 big ones and a crossbody but I rarely use them and they just sit in my closet and make my heart happy to look at them.

Hi Laurie I was thinking maybe you could line that beautiful bag with plastic to protect it then put an autumnal dried flower arrangement in it and display it on your sofa table.Yes I am 65 and as soon as I retired I gave away all my bags and bought a small black leather cross body bag I only carry keys phone and wallet that’s all I can tolerate.last week I bought a beautiful little dark green leather bag crossbody first new bag in 5 yrs it just screams autumn

I've recently turned 60 so I understand about heavy bags. I still love my Dooneys though. I have about 30 normally. My solution is that only carry the bare minimum. And no more shoulder bags. Only satchels that I can carry by hand and the crook of my arm. ❤

I'm a very healthy 64 year old and still carry my Dooney's. I try not to put too much in them but like having room to load them with the things I'll need for work. I love them too much to get rid of any! If you're just going out for the day you shouldn't need to take so much. At least use it as part of your decor because its so pretty!

Oh yes, Laurie, I can no longer carry a full size bag.👜😕 (Due to getting older issues) What works best for me now is a much smaller crossbody style . I understand the struggle! 🕊

Hi Laurie. The display for your Dooney is cute. I have only one Coach and Fossil bag left in my collection. Too heavy to carry as well. I have a corduroy crossbody from Uniqlo that I have used for the past year. Very light and spacious. I enjoy your videos as we are both in our 60’s, retired and enjoying life. 😊

Get a short strap and carry in the crook or your arm by your elbow. Keep that bag and store small leather goods in it.

Laurie, I’m the same with heavy bags too!😩. I used to switch my bags all the time, and loved all different kinds. My 62 year old neck and shoulders just can’t take it anymore. I never thought I would carry Vera Bradley, but that’s my go to back now because of its weight and comfort. Wish I lived close by, I would join your game group for sure!

Beautiful bag Laurie! I would keep it even if I didn’t use it. You might regret selling that one as most likely it would be near to impossible to find one on the second hand market. I figure most people that have one of those probably would never let go of it. I know I wouldn’t, lol. It would look beautiful along with all your other fall decor you have out. That way you can’t say that you are not using it and feel the need to sell it. I myself very seldom do I carry my Dooney’s, but would never part with them. i can totally understand the weight issue you are having with the leaf bag. I’ve been dealing with chronic back pain for over 25 years. I’m almost 57 and I am a handbag addict lol. I love all bags especially large oversized bags and I can tell you that it matters what you put in the bag and the hardware. My advice is try putting lighter items such as a smaller lighter wallet as well as eliminating items such as keychains if you can. I find that helps so much. Tfs Susan from Upstate NY.

Yes. I had a collection of Michael Kors purses that I loved for years but just couldn’t carry anymore. I sold/gave away most of them now. Thank goodness I love Kipling’s and Baggalini’s too! So light and I love the variety and accessories. I know you love that fall D&B bag, just keep it and display it for fall - it still brings you joy even if you can’t carry it like you used to. Use it to hold some fall treats or kuerig k-cups in your kitchen.
