The Apple earpod microphone sounds great! Very surprising. I'm sure there are many beginner youtubers who would appreciate the convenience, simplicity and cost effectiveness of using the existing mic on their earpods. I'm sure very few would suspect how clean the sound quality can be!

After watching this review, I bought Doop Swift 100 for commuting and I love them. They are convenient to take on and off with my regular shoes, and have made my commute way faster (and more fun) than walking.

Thanks for the review. I have the Doop Swift 2015, I really like them. I replaced the Velcro straps (they suck) with clicking lock straps

Thank you for a thorough review with covering differences of this year's model, the boot components, and tips on using Doops. One suggestion for future videos: please show putting on and off the boots (with lacing and straps), so we can see how fast and easy it is to put on and remove the skates. Great video - I subscribed, liked, and looking forward to your future videos!

I just got my Freestyle IIIs a week ago. Beforehand I read plenty of people complaining that they loved their Doops (velcro type, freestyle I, II or classic or whatever) but that the velcro had worn out. Mine are pure buckle. Oddly enough the Freestyle IV (less orthopedic look I could do without, white won't be white for long, and better looking) has velcro again. All top model Doops have buckles so it could be a cost saving thing. It takes a bit longer to get in and especially out of buckled ones, but I love the buckles.

Hey Lino, I own 3 pairs of doops. I can agree with you about shoes :D I remove the shock absorber when I use runners shoes. The other problem that you haven't mention that is the pain from ankle pads in front, they press on top of your feet, if your shoe doesn't have fat tongue, it might hurt on the long run. Or maybe I do it wrong, if yes can you point me the detail how to wear it right so that the skate doesn't press that hard on top of my feet.
@RicardoLino7 жыл бұрын
Anh Hoang that's a cool idea for the running shoes without shock absorbers :) but like u said too is too soft and still the shape of the sole on the sides usually makes it weird right ?
@3Heads6Arms7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it have some weird shift of my foot position on it compared to others flat shoes. And about too soft part, I try to pick shoes with thicker tongue. I don't know how you manage to ride with converse, they are paper thin. But I love Doops, all these years. For normal strides, few basic slides, handle jumps and I can't complain!

Reason I ended up here was just looking for something about the type of shoes to use. I just saw a bunch of promo videos with some superb skaters just to check their shoes and they were very pretty much all wearing shoes similar to the camo looking ones you recommended so I finally found my answer. Very helpful video 👍😆

the sole sould be also as hard as pssible..as the boot is not as solid and supportive as a refular hardboot, we need a stiff shoes..or the skate gets more unstable

I skated all my life but i felt incredibly paralyzed to the point that i had to remove them. you said that these guys can be adjusted. in other words you can move the blade right? Lastly you know if there is a way to adjust to my shoe size so it will not slide back and forth at all. Sorry for all the questions but seriously you have been the only person who has the inside info on this. Not even the doop website tells you these things. Again thanks a million

And I'm not looking for doop skates at all lol, but now when it will be the time (even if I'm not looking for doop at right now, I know I'll buy it in the futur for transportation) I will know how to put them on (the part on which type of shoes should we use to use for the doop skates was very relevant) etc. Thanks

@Xanderoos7 жыл бұрын
I wonder if the frame is "rockered" to accommodate a 110mm wheel if you decide to go bigger. Powerslide says these skates will fit a 110mm wheel.
@RicardoLino7 жыл бұрын
Alex Rose well I can try;) let me try tomorrow . Please comment again and remind me ;)

hi dude..you cant put 110 on this frame unless you shave the front of the frame..even with the wheels rockered down...its doable but needs some tool work ;)
@Xanderoos7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking that out! Too bad... would be a great feature to help minimize the space between the boot and wheel when using different size wheels. Probably just a typo on Power slides product page then.

Hi Lino, I intent to do such thing on these mainly for more (?)comfort on bad tarmac and to test myself If I can deal with that 5 mm extra height like I did with 100. Just wanted to ask what do you think if such frame shaving and compromising the frame construction will be sensible during skating like during losing grip on the hairpins. Losing warranty is ok - I'm going for 125 on the next year if 110 are ok for me although a lot of local sidewalks are more SUV :) P.S. I've got these after the review.

MrJlmmeh the shoes make a huge difference . Like I say in the video. You want something low, slim and flat on the sides and in the tongue is bit puffy wil be more comfortable . I like this ones a lot , again, with the right shoes !! 🙂👊🏼

Can I get your opinion. ...if I wear about a size 42 - 43. Would you recommend getting the smaller size and extending them all the way out, or getting the bigger set and having it on one of the shortest settings?
@ewganhoff7 жыл бұрын
Wes McGregor I just went through the same problem. My size is right in the middle of the large and small size doops. Some of my shoes would use the small some the large. I have ordered the small size Swift 3(pink/yellow/blue) a couple of days ago so I haven't got them yet. I'll let you know here how it goes.
@wesmcgregor77157 жыл бұрын
Cool. ....yes, please let me know what you find out......!
@ewganhoff7 жыл бұрын
Wes McGregor My size 42 and 43 shoes fit just fine. I do have a much bigger problem, though. There is almost no ankle support. The first time I stood up the skates flexed so much the side of the boot hit the ground. I'm going to try moving the frame more to the outside of the foot to see if that helps, but I think, sadly, I'm going to be sending them back. 😞
@ewganhoff7 жыл бұрын
Wes McGregor Update: I am sending them back. I adjusted the frames all the way to the outside and it made almost no difference. If you've seen that other rollerblader blogger that put frames on a par of flip-flops, that's what they feel like to me - they flex so much I'm afraid they're going to snap. I honestly don't know how anyone skates them.
@wesmcgregor77157 жыл бұрын
ewganhoff....thanks for your input. I like a very firm solid boot that molds my foot tightly....so with your input I think I'll probably pass on these also...I like the idea of using a separate walking shoes...but I did wonder how solid off a feel these would have.....thx ! I have the same pain from ankle pads in front when I bend my knees and from the tongue on the sides... i see the tongue in your doop is very high, How do you manage to do that? Do you have any suggestions?
@3Heads6Arms7 жыл бұрын
If the tongue of the doop is high, you lose stability. My freestyle doop 3 have the leather piece, that holds buckle on same level as cuff, broke off and the ankle pad of that doop can be really high(whenever i bend knees or with few strides), at the cost of stability when landing jumps or whatever fancier tricks.
@PaulA-jg7vt7 жыл бұрын
I also have horrible, horrible pain from the edge of the tongue/ankle pad digging into the sides of my leg. I bought my Doops sight-unseen with no return here in Taiwan. The tongue design is molded plastic that is shaped with a sharp edge that jabs straight into my leg. I've heated up and reshaped the plastic a bit. I have to wait until the blisters and bruising are healed before I can tell if it will work. I've noticed that there seem to be a lot of different tongue designs from Powerslide. Some of the Xsjado skates have very cut down tongues with rounded corners (my Doops have a very tall tongue and a sharp protruding corner). The current tongues seem to have much more padding than my Doop Classic Blues. I really, really want to like the Doops, but the tongue is incredibly painful. I have incredibly wide feet and Doops allow me to wear comfortable shoes while skating. However, the tongue design is pure torture. Is there a place to order new tongue assemblies?

Hi, Lino, awhile after the review I've got these as my starter and already two months enjoy them but was thinking about changing the frame set with some 125 mm like the PS Megacruiser or GC tri-skate mainly for comfort's sake cause where I live the tarmac in local parks is from decent to awful and wanted to reduce the vibrations on my joints being an old guy. Will it be fine or the 125 mm would be too much for a DOOP-skate?
@j0shlumahan6 жыл бұрын
mastichka I have the exact same setup (Doop classic boot + 125mm Megacruisers). It works well. Plus, the speed is exhilarating.
@mastichka6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. The thing is three weeks ago I decided to go cheaper and followed Lino's reply to some guy in the comments to shave a bit the original frame so it can accommodate 110s thus sparing some cash buying wheels only except that I had to shave not only the frame but the plastic above the 1-st and second wheel as well but I'm happy with that so far at least until I have the money to buy 125mm skates like Swell.
