The folklore of Kunju and Chanchalo is still sung and heard in the mountainous areas of Chamba. This love story is the love story of Kunju, a young man from a well-to-do family, and Chanchalo, a young woman from a middle-class family. When the two fell in love, the people of the village did not like it. Kunju was sent away from home and eventually enlisted in the army. After a long time, Kunju comes to the village after taking leave from the army, then he learns that Chanchalou's parents have married him to another young man. Kunju is very unhappy and meets the village pond with flickering. Clothes washing clothes tells her that now she has become someone else, now it is not right for her to meet them. Seeing Kunju's condition, she is moved and says that even if she wants to come, she should not come at night. Enemies are loaded with guns in its ambush. Kuju cries out to Chanchalo that he did not respect her and marries another young man. Disappointed Kunju returned to the army and never returned. The song is sung as 'two songs'. The young man sings the lines of Kuju and the girl sings on behalf of Chanchalo. This song of disconnection depicts the stereotypes of Indian society, mutual jealousy - malice in rural society. Chanchalo, while presenting the ideal of Indian woman, husbandry, following the religion, convinces the lover to forget her and not come to meet her.. . . . Full Translation of Song.. "Chanchalo was washing clothes, weeping together but she was not speaking anything out of the mouth. Her lover Kunju was asking her why she was crying. After all Kuju repeatedly asks, she wakes up - don't touch me. Apply. Do not see that there are red bangles in my arms (ie I am married). Come on, I have become infamous for my love with you, and there is one that I am being made unconscious of me. The love of Chanchalo once again swells - if you want to come, do not come at night, the enemies have loaded guns to kill you. Kunju says - My love for you is very old, but you are not appreciating this love. The frenzied flicker once again reminds Kuju of his euphoria. Come on, many people call your face black but I like you the most beautiful. Key, after all, you have gone abroad, you give me some sign, do not know when you will have to come again. Come on, take this five rupees to sweeten your mouth and this is the ring, my sign. Kunju Do not forget me, it is my prayer to remember you sometimes. But actually this story is originated from Jammu(Poonch area) was first well populated by Duggars and that village was Kundal where this happens Many Duggars from Poonch, Kistwar, Bhaderwah went to Chamba, Shimla, Sirmour, Rohru And now they are called as Himachalis But they always be Duggar of Himachal I am one of them Lots of love from Shimla❤️❤️❤️
