But maharaja ranjit singh ji was unable to do anything due to democratic dicision making setup. If holkar was weak then britishers would not have interfered in mutual friendship of two. Here, Mr. Raja Ranjit Singh (May his soul rest in peace!) made the biggest mistake by not helping Prince Mratha. The British Army started the war, but Mr. Raja Ranjit took his part back by simply following the foolish and ugly statements of his Minister (Mr. Faqir-Aziz-ul-Deen), thus thought about maintaining the peace through reconciliation. After all, it was the point of the whole India empire, not only of the Punjab region. If Mr. Raja Ranjit Sb had taken action against the bloody and cruel British just in the start, the outcomes would have been entirely different. His grandfather (Mr. Charat Singh and his boss, Mr. Sardar Jasa Singh Alu Valiya: sorry for not remembering the exact spellings of names, however, may their souls rest in peace!) played the great role not only for the Punjab region, but for the whole India. When it came the point of Takhet-e-Taoos, they bravely stated that who the hell is Nadir Shah for occupying Dehli and robbing the great symbol of respect of India. In that way, they got together and fought against the cruel, but Mr. Raja Ranjit Singh remained busy for doing great work for the Punjab region when it was the need to attack the British.

Attacking not on Multan/Sindh was part of pact with British, and weakening Mughals by Marathas and Sikhs again was British strategy and creating a buffer zone was again long term plan. This is enough to understand the whole strategy and actual power. They made it, use it and discard it. No real power ever existed in India.
