I haven’t fully watched the video so you may say something about this, but I wish they would allow us more time for accepting or declining when we are driving. There are certain areas that I preferred not to go to for one reason or another. And I can’t zoom in and get a better look at where it’s going beforehand. For me, I don’t like going to the downtown area because of parking and pedestrians not paying attention. And one particular apartment complex that is pretty large and there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to it. So if I see that it’s going there a lot of times I will decline it.

I had like 8 on Monday and after the app didn’t get another until Wednesday and then it was 1 item from food Lion on a stack with Pizza Hut. Whenever there are app issues I don’t get shops 🤷🏼‍♂️

Haven't heard of that with any dashers i know. If you like shopping check your email there may be a message from Doordash (possibly sent ages ago) about Shop and Pay priority, you take a small quiz and then they flood you with shopping orders so long as you have it toggled on in the app. If i had to guess maybe your area has a lot of people who already did this and possibly only have shopping toggled on, so worth signing up for that and taking the quiz to get full priority if you haven't already and want more shops.

Hey Bentley, got a couple of suggestions. I don't know if you've done it already. Maybe you have but clear your cache. Uninstall the app. Reinstall the app. Sometimes that fixes everything and inside the app. If the option on your version for the maps still gives you default Google or the other map, try that but it hasn't hit Michigan yet and I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't. Hopefully that helps you my man. Have a good day!

Bentley et al: What I do = Using a utility called Macrodroid, I extract the address from the DD screen and launch Maps with the right parameters and pass the address I pulled from the DD screen. I get a hit virtually every time, with no typing by me. Why I do that: Gives me total control over what address is mapped and how, Plus it let's me flip to other apps without having DD controlling my screen. Plus I can add function,like using Beans to map the apartment route automatically if they live in one. There are quirks in the DD app for sure, and also on how Google Maps acts on information it is given (like sending you to the house next door - not unique to DD by the way, Uber Eats suffers just the same - or to a range of addresses on a street, etc...) Side Note: Macrodroid (and Tasker) give me lots of other tools that save me time with these gig platforms)

Doordash software is the most F*ucked up shit ever !! I have to type in the address because Doordash doesn't give the correct address to the map ... instead of the correct address Doordash will send you near the correct address. BUT NOT THE CORRECT ADDRESS. ALSO, sometimes it will read " Coweta County" or "Fayetteville County" Instead of an address ... this will often send ( me ) a driver way out of the way, adding several miles to what should have been a short drive !!!!!

I’m not having issues with maps. I use the in app map to navigate me to the customer, but I do use Apple and Google maps to see the house that I’m going to. I will search it on both to ensure it’s a match so I can look for a marker in case the in app map fails me. This helps out tremendously when delivering at night. I know my area pretty well, so when the in app is giving me a route that isn’t the fastest, I don’t even use the map. Lastly, while driving before I accept the order and my phone is mounted I will use the voice feature on the maps to speak the address to see if it’s an address that I don’t want to deliver to. Having said all this, keep your phone mounted and speak the address while driving if you have to. If it populates 2 addresses for the same address in different cities, then you just have to quickly glance at it to pull up the right address. I hope this helps, Bentley! I just tap the search bar in Google Maps, and then the microphone that shows in the right of the search. Then just speak the address and hit go. Much easier than copy/paste, which I do sometimes still have to do with strange named roads you can't even pronounce. lol

I’ve had this issue for a couple months or so, and I’ve been manually entering addresses. Fun delays. Especially when Dash app says Lincoln Lane and the address on Google Maps is Lincoln Drive. Have to make sure you’re going to the right place before you go anywhere.

I had switched from in app nav to google maps. ...mostly because i have google map options set to avoid freeways and dd nav ignores that and forces me onto the freeway. When i switched back it worked again. I figured dd was just trying to force in app nav...so annoying.

I'm in Central Illinois and my most recent app update included a new in app maps and its choppy while driving not smooth and the audible driving instructions have to be muted everytime. If you mute it turns back on for the next order. Also the view switches to overhead map view which looks weird then will just snap to long view when to go faster... its all trash and o called and ranted about it for a loooong time.

DD is doing this to shift from on demand to scheduling. Meaning drivers earn by the hour not by delivery and customers schedule all deliveries. This is because the have become gatekeepers of the money instead of a platform connecting deliveries and drivers. Remember DD owns no assets.

Here in Minnesota u can get a 160 dollar fine for holding your phone, U best have a phone holder on the dash and its not illegal to tap the screen with your fingers. I got pulled over by a sheriff early last yr on 2023 in the spring for holding my phone in my hand, yet I hung up the phone with my boss and started driving again, Minnesota has a no hands policy on the phone while driving. The sheriff did state its ok to tap the screen of the phone but its not ok to 'hold' the phone in your hands while driving.

Are you on android or iphone? I noticed on some android phones half of the stuff is slow to load and sometimes it barely works, so far on an iphone 11 i havent had any issues, except service network issues.

I was so annoyed last month with this exact problem in the Portland Oregon area. I went and purchased a second phone That is now my music and GPS dedicated. I have about a 50% of the time. The app will send me directions on their GPS location...

I rarely use any navigation. I grew up and delivered everything from newspapers, weed, pizza, auto parts where I dash, so using navigation apps isn't an issue. I feel like it's my biggest advantage over most drivers.

I was dashing ft and this week I'm basically screwed this week due to their change. My app constantly glitches out. After I accept an order it continues to bring bring and vibrate. Also it will not let me get to platinum and I'm currently below silver due to an AR glitch. I've brought this to their attention several times without getting it resolved. To get rid of the bring/vibrate just tap the up or down volume button on your phone, after you accept. It only seems to keep making noise if you had DD in the background , when your using/looking at other apps. For your other issues try this: First log out of DD app. Then go to your phone settings and then APPS, Scroll until you see DD. open it and clear cache and storage. Delete the app. Turn phone off for a few mins (don't do a quick restart). A few mins restart phone, reinstall DD and sign in. Sometimes better for a fresh install as the app sometimes (most times actually lol) corrupts itself when just updating.

Did you look under Dash Preferences in your app? Sometimes updates toggle the switch off for shop and pay. I have that feature/option ( Toggle on/off shop n pay) in my market, but not all markets have the option yet. But its worth checking to make sure.

Try logging off of DD app and sign back in, sometimes it fixes he issue as it resets in app map. If that does not work, Log out again and then go in phone settings and look for DD app, click it and go to storage, then clear cache and storage. Turn phone off a few mins ,reboot and sign back into app. If it still doesn't work then follow same steps log out/clear cache/storage. But this time delete the app. Turn phone off few mins. turn back on and reinstall app. Seems it doesn't get rid of the old navigation when it updates the maps, and old and new conflict. I noticed after following steps above when the new maps finally loaded (which looked totally diff). It worked much better/faster. But it is DD, so something else will soon glitch. lol

The google maps is what is mad, because I can do directions outside of the app and it allows me to re-center if I look through the route to get an idea where I am going to, but you don't get that on the app and it's inconviencing while dashing

In the app when that happens I touch on the address, and the address below is in the correct format. So click on that address, and you should be good. Verify it’s the right address first though. Yes, Doordash needs to fix it.

log out clear apps cache/storage. delete app and turn phone off for few mins. Turn phone on reinstall app and log in. Should fix the issue as it reloads fresh and not with the old updates conflicting with new. Updates often make app glitch, so fresh install most times will help. Also it is good to log out of app daily, as it seems to refresh the app and it glitches less.

Im in the twin tiers area of ny i have been having an issue with gps. It likes to make me turn around all the time. Now I have also been having an issue signing in. I have to uninstall and reinstall my app every time to be able to sign in. Otherwise it will never get off the red signing in page 😞

So I got a question for you guys my mom cosigned a brand new car for my sister who just started college The car is insured through State Farm State Farm under my mom My sister did Instacart before Under my mom’s insurance and using her car while she was in high school since Instacart only check your drivers license in your background according to them She wanted to do Uber eats now on the Uber eats app on the DoorDash app it requires you to upload a picture with the insurance policy with the applicants name on there since my sister is a designated driver for the new vehicle on the policy wise, State Farm refusing to put her on the policy form to provide proof to Uber or DoorDash that she’s on the policy they keep telling her that we don’t allow Ride Sharing I call bullshit because I’m sure there are numerous drivers out there doing Uber Uber eats Lyft and DoorDash. They have State Farm insurance policy.

Actually you need either a rideshare or commercial insurance for Uber and for Doordash. They may both hire you with standard insurance but if you get into an accident you will find out quick that your insurance will not cover you. You have to tell them you are delivering and pay maybe an extra $20 to $100 a month depending on the recommended coverage. You can take a chance and not tell your insurance but if you are the one that caused the accident, you are screwed!!! If the other person did, you will probably be ok as they will have to pay. While DD and Uber do cover some insurance they have a deductible you have to pay first and it only covers you while you are on an active delivery. If you are waiting for one or you are on your own insurance. Again if your sister is in an accident, her insurance or you mothers will not cover her if they find out she is delivering food, without paying for extra coverage. Which again if she is at fault insurance won't pay and he can be sued.

Mine does that to, but then I noticed that their mailboxes where also back there, by their garage door or parking spaces. Maps may think its front because of this. Goes by actual postal address, where mailbox is located. be it in the back or front of the house.

Point about using phone and driving, there are WAY too many accept accept confirm confirm prompts with the Doordash app. If nothing else i have NO idea why the "I've Arrived" button isn't automated, it KNOWS when you are there otherwise it doesn't pop up, we need less clicks not more. That’s one thing I always loved about DoorDash is hitting the directions button and getting my Apple Maps up with the right directions! One thing I always hated about Uber is hitting the direction button being off 75% of the time and having to manually enter the directions! Totally unsafe and dangerous, plus it slows you down!!!

Patti Bellion, Denver, Co. The new gps tells me go west and in the same sentence tells me to go east. It wants to send me down alleys and takes me down out of the way side roads. I now must always look at the entire map before pulling away, and set my own course. This is definetly ARTIFICIAL intelligence! Lol.

GPS isn't my issue, it's the funky hard brake alerts and issues confirming orders at the merchants through the app. I took up a good 15 minutes at one place just to confirm an order through support. That was a waste of time

The problem is, a lot of people use pins in my area so just ryping in the address will throw off where youre supposed to go. Ive jad the "xant find a way there" error randomly for the past few months. I wasnt sure what the problem is but im glad you addressed it. I dash in Paducah ky. And the 1k for 40 hours hasnt been a regular thing for over a year here lol. People have pretty much stopped tipping in this area.

This happened to me in Pompano beach, FL. The maps were taking me to the wrong location, showing as the drop off location.

since we’re talking about distractions, we don’t need to go through 10 different steps of verification and confirmations just to complete an order. It’s incredibly annoying and distracting and a time suck. But yeah maps is the number one thing that has to work . every time.

The other day I got an order and I was already close to the store just had to u turn so I hit arrive at store, wait about 10 minutes for the order then when I drop the order off I got a late store arrival violation. Something has been going on
