I still don't see the benefit on hiding the tips. On one hand, you would want the driver to know the full pay. But! On the other hand, they don't want the Driver to know that the Customer isn't tipping either. It's up to the Driver to be smart with the dollars to miles ratio. They should identify it based on the low pay/high mileage offers.
@mikehiers2 жыл бұрын
And yes there is an easy consumer complaint lawsuit here. Doordash is using good tipping customers to piggyback on cretins that don't tip. The person tipping well is expecting the tip to improve the delivery. The asshole who does not tip is a parasite on the good tipper. This is another Doordash atrocity. Never take stacked orders unless they are a lot of money.

@@mikesaintjulesmusic My thing is I don't understand what the issue would be with just showing you the full amount first. Sometimes when the order is higher it doesn't even mean that it's high because of the customer. I've had orders that were higher and the client didn't even tip. The added peak pay to my order without even saying I was dashing during peak pay at the time. Just show the total we will get and we'll be happy, it doesn't even mean the client tipped or didn't tip. They could literally disclose that to us later and I wouldn't care, it would just be nice to get the whole financial picture first. My issue is when I am paid less than what is originally advertised to me which I've had happen a few times. They claim that it's because the client changed their tip after the order was sent to drivers, them picking up the difference would be nice...There is no consistency, accountability or full disclosure...

While in the poarking lot I saw about 150-200 were sauces but spotted the rest were burgers, chicken, fries, drinks. McDonalds was ready for me and was out the door in under 10 minutes. 5-10 additional minutes fitting stuff in my car. The delivery went fairly well in spiote of many heavy boxes. I worked in restaurants a long time. People complain about their experiences at restaurants but don’t get the correlation to doordash. Leaving orders can also hurt a customer experience for that company as a whole. I can understand high crime areas but what happened to just trying to do a good job and make someone happy. Tip or no tip we are still getting paid. I was a delivery driver for a long time hustled to make money. I would take orders people didn’t want to take. I didn’t work for tips but for the pay check. I was much more content when I changed my mindset and remembered that I was giving people an experience. I now work a full time job and this is just a side hustle. If I make tips it’s cool if I don’t I’m still getting money I didn’t have before. One day is not as big a deal in light of a week or a year. Same with one delivery when you have a whole week to make up for that. In some ways I thing it’s good that door dash is offering people far out delivery options. Greed has really hurt our cultural mindset.

The customer has also messaged me that they've added an extra tip but never have I seen an order that after delivered sudden is more than I originally saw unless a tip was later added . Because at the end it shows the amount and says ( got it) so this is new to me and I deliver all over SC.

Well I'm #teamandroid for life so I would have checked the widget first or quite frankly I might have just checked para first either way I would have known if it was actually 85 things or a bunch of sauces thrown in there. Taco Bell is not the only one who counts sauces Papa John's counts all the garlic butters all the seasoning packs several of the restaurants count silverware packets as well as other things such as Asian restaurants with yum yum sauce or duck sauce and all that stuff so it is not just Taco Bell. But the chances are 9:00 in the morning after checking the widget and seeing that it was actually 85 orders real orders real things I would have most likely took this order even before I checked with Tara to see if there was a guaranteed payout there.

McDonald's also lists condiments as items. I'd take that order all day. That's 1.76 a mile. Plus here 6.75, and 7.25 are the most common with hidden tips. I also don't accept an order if the pay I see isn't good enough. The only thing I ask after seeing the order is, do I want it, simple as that 😁 I don't let myself expect to have a hidden tip that way it don't upset me if it ain't there LMAO

Not here to say whose right or who's wrong, but I have found that MANY restaurants list sauce as an item. Still recommend grabbing high item counts though. Just figured I'd throw that out there.

I tried denying orders and found they stopped sending me orders or kept me idle for a long time. So long my scheduled dash ended. Any ideas?

Id rather carry 85 items to and from my car for $7.25 than drive my car 10 miles for $7.25. I just try to stay at or above $2/mile unless its slow.

My local walmart hides tips. I had a "13.75" 2 house wm today for 4.5mi and it was $20.50 in the end. Only took 15min.

Hmmm... I don't know man. I am not sure many drivers would take that gamble. I have (taken the gamble) and been burnt more times than received the high tip. I've got more than 10k deliveries. Personally, I'd think twice.

would it be more advantageous to end the month as a 100% AR top dasher and then be more selective?

Do people tip on most orders? I've been doing Uber and Lyft and the tip is less than 5% of the people.

I did a $174 Chipotle order a few weeks ago. Less than 2 miles. I think it was like 7 big azz boxes. Original pay showed $12 for 100+ items. SNATCH

Was that from the tip mainly? I delivered a huge Chipotle order once to our triple aaa baseball team and no tip at all

@@danielfreemanreels4053 yes that was from the tip all from the tip I've done many orders like that where I got no tip at all but still worth taking I know what you mean got to watch out for ez cater as well they usually don't tip with ez caterer orders

@@gamebred3443 well my Einstein order was a 0 tip due to the lady ordering from their own website...."we appreciate you...blah...blah.....almost $180 in food and not even a $20 cash tip...it took an hour....I called DD and they paid me $5 more to the low 8$ order

No because 4.1 + 4.1 = 8.2 and that's not a dollar per mile but that being said there could be a big ass hidden tip on that but it's a risk you take I guess.

I made a mistake of accepting an order for 10 pizzas on a bike. Now I had the $45 doordash bag which was supposed to fit pizzas but let me tell you it fit 6 pizzas if I took 2 10' Charging cables I happen to have stored in the bag and tied them around because only one side would zip-up and hope to God they didn't come out while trying to mount my bike number 1 as well as as trying to get to the customer. I had to turn around and go get the other 4 and bring it back to them on a 2cd trip because because DD told me that if I canceled the order they would drop down my rating to 83% and I was 100% across-the-board. So messed up. And let's not even start in on how rude the DD support was And I explained that it would probably be better for somebody with a car. Live and learn the right??
