It's called a modified crucifix and looks exactly like the regular crucifix but it was made with a redder wood and instead of dragging entity's to god knows where it crucifys you instead and sends you to a 70 room subfloor called the fleshrooms

You can actually buy the crucifix for 299 knobs, doesn't work of course. But interesting to know that it existed, and the original plans for the skeleton key and crucifix fragments, and how it was usable on... Seek. Edit: the crucifix does work, the pentagram floats above the ground for some reason. If an entity is banished, it will not return. (Rush, eyes, probably not seek)

I think that the crucifix was also tried to reintroduce once again in the game, you would need the skeleton key to open 5 skeleton doors, wich contained a crucifix fragment, if you collected all 5 fragments, the crucifix would be assembled.

Yes there definitely was. I guess it was readded after guiding light had a symbol so they didn't have to infuse evil spirits into the crucifix which half the time did not do what they were made to do.
