The fork on ground is actually a tactic used by some food critics to test how attentive the wait staff is. Obviously, the fork was lying there unnoticed for god knows how long. So this is not only them failing to meet the minimum standard of a restaurant-let alone of Michelin level-but also they’ve just been reviewed by a critic and had no idea.

Like Marcus I was raised by a single mom who fought cancer when I was 14 and passed away when I was 24. We only had each other to lean on. So I know exactly what Marcus is feeling. Which is why I really don’t like that the showrunner never had a scene in this season where Marcus actually truly broke down. I know everyone handles grief and loss in their own way, but honestly he just looks like he had lost a job or was told he was evicted from his apartment, not that he lost the most important person in his life.

Chef Marco Pierre White, UK, once charged the equivalent to some 80 dollars iirc because a customer wanted french fries but that wasn't on the menu. He said he wasn't charging for the food, he was charging for the waste of his time because he had to stop what he was doing and make the fries

You need to realize that more 1-3 star restaurants than not do not change their menu all that frequently. Some do, and that's its own kind of experience, but even they probably got there over time rather than right out of the gate. Others just get stars because of consistent excellence.

I have been to a few fine dining places and one restaurant with a star in france. I can tell you for a fact that yes visually it doesn't look like a lot of food but the experience is designed to get you full. The least courses I've had were 9 the most 14 at the end of the night you are never hungry and you have eaten such diverse food with tastes and ingredients that you basically experience everything they can offer. Its not what people think where you sit down give 300$ and get a small piece of meat with some golden flakes on top and half a shot of soup in a fancy bowl.
