I MAY have forgotten that the difficulty ramp also existed with Figure's heartbeat minigame (post floor 2 release, pre-nerf). Oh well, maybe when its reimplemented it will still have that function or it may be reverted to its previous form. Also for the take on pre-nerf floor 2, my main complaint with the nerf is that for the normal gameplay (excluding boss encounters) is way too easy. I wasn't a fan of the entity spam present in Floor 2's original release, but the patch absolutely destroyed all challenge of normal rooms! Entity spawns should've stayed a little increased! I also didn't like the heartbeat minigame FOR HIDE, as well as snares spawning everywhere (as stated in the video, it would be much better if they only spawned in garden rooms)

i like the heartbeat minigame, its like figure is listening for your heartbeat and he just assumes its his own because we are matching our heart beat with figure's. i'm pretty happy its being reimplemented in a future update Edit: for everyone saying "you cant control your heartbeat" i think we are calming ourselves down so our heart is in the same pace as figure's because figure is probably calm when hunting and this would also explain why guiding light says control your breathing instead of control your heartbeat

Garden rooms and rooms that are "outside" are extremely rare to come by, every third run or more. Event then, Rush doesn't always spawn in those rooms, which makes Snare obsolete. With the basement comparison, the basement is much smaller than the garden rooms, making Snare easy to maneuver With Figure's minigame, it should defiantly be shorter. As with how Figure is now, doing the long minigame 5+ times because you just wanted to loot would get annoying fast. The idea of Window being a threat would mean Window could only be a Hotel and Castle entity, as there's no windows in the mines.

I’m betting sally will act similar to a snare entity (dupe, snare, hide, those entities trapping you in a short cutscene for a few moments) where sally can be seen through windows, if too close, she’ll either trap you or blind you with a flash of lightning. Most likely doing damage as well. I feel like if the flash was implemented it would short circuit the lights in the room as well. This is a great thing to work on, as it adds a new feature to the windows which have never really had much purpose outside of atmosphere.

Cheddar balls, they removed the heartbeat minigame because it was very bugged as hide appeared at the same time. Essentially, if you went into a locker in f1 or f2 pre-update, you were essentially dead, because hide would kick you out while figure was still in front of the locker

Something that I would love to see in a small Mines+ update is that, Doors 185-195 could be like the greenhouse, but it is an underground facility, resembling the old Mines concepts, and an entity we could find there is “Blind”, which is like the Snare of floor 2, but it makes you blind for 2-5 seconds, and it is a red virus eye, that can be found on monitors

Floor 1 isn’t hard, but the first version of floor 2 was so hard to the point that it feels like a final boss floor. At the time, I couldn’t even make it to the seek chase.. So that’s why the developers nerfed floor 2 a lot.

When it came out on January 13th, people were asking the developer (Mucdich) to nerf some parts of it, but that chapter takes place in hell so it’s meant to be “sorta” difficult. Even the boss (named Yūrei) had too much health and players keep on crashing in either the strict dad part, or the boss fight part.

Exactly! Slot of potential in a lot of aspects of doors, we need an entity besides Timothy that hides in stuff, like a mimic or something. Also agreed, I feel like hide actually does fit the mini game but would be less sensitive to failing as it just kicks you out, but figure has very sensitive hearing and it makes sense. I like that the devs are building upon more mechanics like the disorientation effect that occurs with gas, water, etc, great world building

00:57 I definitely agree with u and I mostly blame it on KZbinrs except 8-bit Ryan (my man managed to win PRE-NERF not even kreek could do it) A lot of KZbinrs complained about the difficulty which also caused their fans to think that way They simply forgot that floor1 was also hard for people when it first dropped(as it was a trial and error game)along with hotel+ i remember a lot of complaints about greenhouse (most of those KZbinrs don't actually play the game for challenge but for content and lore so they can satisfy their fans that's why they don't play games like doors that could actually be challenging and have them replay the game again) And also during the mines release the pressure vs doors drama was around especially on discord so when the update was "too" hard they hopped on the hate wagon with other doors haters(this is true as devs received death threats after the mines release) All and all I think the nerf was too much as I managed to complete the nest pre-nerf(on mobile and at the time my hand was broken) but died due to the lag spike after the door 152 And if I could get through the most difficult part of the mines in such conditions I'm sure others could as well

My personal opinion on how window could work is this; After a certain amount of time, window will break through the glass and rush at the player. This could be an opportunity for another minigame. To stop window from breaking in, you simply have to stare at them until the next door is opened. Inspired by FNAF endo skeletons (from Security Breach) and by Pandemonium (you know what that is from)

Maybe Sally (Window) could be an entity that would scream or make a loud noise if he sees you and It could alert Rush so he can spawn and the only way to not trigger this is by crouching beneath the window he appears in, and he rarely spawns to because no one wants to deal with that every door that has a window.

LSPLASH could also add a curtain mechanic and make it so when window spawns you have to shut the curtains on the window to avoid an attack. He could also switch windows and make you have to close the other curtains too. I also think that the curtains should reopen after a couple seconds to make this harder.

My idea for window is that he would spawn outside the window (duh) and you have to crouch under it, failing to do so results in him grabbing some lightning, and hitting you in the head with it, dealing around 60-70 damage. And as a little extra detail, make the player blind for a few seconds, and add a hole in the wall behind them.

in MY opinion, I actually think most of the updates weren't very necessary and for me, didn't change much of the problems I faced. Actually, I think that something that should have been changed was the seek chase and grumble nest. The problems I had were that the guiding lights were unpredictable at times. I think a way to change this would be instead of the light following you, it should already highlight the path/rail to follow. Next, the grumble nest has been extremely tedious and somewhat difficult for me. I think the main problem was that the grumble's AI is unpredictable and should have waypoints like in Figure's rooms so that there can still be that unpredictability, but also the player feels like they can strategize the movement of the grumbles. Another thing I found difficult was locating the anchors due to the map being so big. It would be nicer if there was a board in a few sections of the nest showing a map and where the player is or something like that, or maybe putting light sources in the tunnel sections of the nest since light items don't really help navigate that much, in my opinion. maybe put like, glowsticks on the ground or something that already spawn, or just increase the amount of light sources able to spawn in the nest I'm sure someone already said the EXACT same things as me, but just putting my thoughts

what if, the lights flickered but it did continously for 7 seconds, and the room would be covered in a thick black fog, you'd need to backtrack to the previous room to avoid taking damage. i think it would be overkill to make it instakill so just make the player just barely manage to crawl out of the room but take 30 damage. after 5 more seconds the fog goes away and the room gets re-generated. in the fog you can see a familiar smile though. that's my idea of window lol

The heartbeat minigame they messed with it when floor 2 dropped and made it so the heartbeat got harder and harder and after like 20 seconds it would kick you out still even if you did it perfectly and it was annoying and many others expressed this so they removed it. The minigame was cool before floor 2 but they made an unnecessary change to it for floor 2.

disagree with the side tangent about nerfs. Please keep in mind that there is supposed to be 10 main floors. If floor 2 is supposed to be that difficult, and we're only a fifth of the way through, then how hard would the rest of the game be? difficulty progression is best when its slow and steady in order for players to be able to learn fast enough and not get overwhelmed by many new gimmicks.

Doors theory suggestion: Why are all entitys (besides jeffs shop, jack, shadow, and Timothy) trying to kill us even though they some aren't seek infected such as Ambush, Halt, Giggle, Grumble, and Figure? Clearly the Giggles are just doing it for fun as a prank, the Grumbles are patrolling for intruders, and Figure is either doing it for nutritional value or just because you're too loud it hurts Figure, but what about Ambush and Halt? Edit: Also what if Ambush is a Blitz that survived and is terrified which is why it rebounds.

In my recent doors run, I've got window after the seek chase. But I'm not too sure because a lighting happened right after i saw 2 glowing eyes, the room i found him in is the room you always enter before the courtyard (door 88) Plus, his chances before were 1 IN 10,000 so that might be the reason why nobody saw him, or maybe, his chances were accidentally increased to 1 in 100k or something like that after hotel+ upd, also i am 100% sure that was window because when i rewatched my footage, it was actually a glowing smiley face. (I can't upload it cuz my storage is full)

honestly gonna be honest: they really SHOULD NOT add back the heartbeat mini-game. sure it went with figure but that thing has ended many a people runs and its removal was actually better because that mini-game was way to hard.

There are areas in the dark that are out of bounds or holes in the ceiling where it could appear. The garden rooms and the walkway where you can see a dark area with some water on the side come to mind.

The Castle is going to be outdoors? Though, I sort of like that idea. Maybe they can have outdoor sections that look like a castle market. There’s a lot they could do with this type of setting. One thing I’d like to see is some sort of knight-entity where the knight armor stands in the Castle (assuming there are any) come alive and attack you.

i have an idea for the window revamp so that it could actually be a threat window will spawn in the outside obviously, it does not do anything, but if you look at it for about 1 minute the entity will dissapear until the lightning strikes or you look away, then all the lights will shut down as breathing noises can be heard, then you'll start to see a creature that looks like window but with a more demonic face, then windows face will be seen surrounding the player, all the faces will start laughing and the creature will start to haunt the player, triggering a minigame that will force your mouse to the creatures face, you will have to move your mouse away the face for at least 10 seconds before it gets bigger and more visible or you'll die. (dumbest idea i've ever made)
