Dopamine
In the body, dopamine is formed from alpha tyrosine before noradrenaline in the metabolism of catecholamines. It binds to dopamine receptors in the brain and acts as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. Dopamine receptors are divided into two types D1 (and D2 - receptors. Substances that stimulate dopamine receptors are called dopaminemimetic, they include dopamine, apomorphine, bromocriptine. Neuroleptics have the property of paralyzing dopamine receptors.
Dopamine is obtained synthetically as a drug substance, when it is injected into the body, it stimulates dopamine receptors and adrenoreceptors in a high amount, increases the release of noradrenaline from granules, that is, it has an indirect adrenomimetic effect. Dopamine increases peripheral vascular resistance, systolic blood pressure, heart power, blood volume leaving the heart, heart rate almost does not change, although it is less compared to noradrenaline. Although the oxygen demand of the myocardium increases, the myocardium is sufficiently supplied with oxygen due to the improvement of blood circulation in the coronary vessels. The resistance of the kidney vessels also decreases, the filtration process in the kidney balls increases, and the mesenteric vessels expand. Dopamine differs from noradrenaline and adrenaline in its effects on the kidneys and mesenteric vessels.
