The jaw is already a very strong muscle group, while the connections to the scull are relatively fragile; wearing a mouth guard while sleeping to align the jaw if you clench your teeth would be a better investment, or going to physical therapy to help correct issues. Just using it if you have problems can and will make things worse if you don't treat it like you were going to lift heavy weights at the gym. If it's treated casually then you could injure yourself.
