It's not Sentry being O.P. that's the problem, it's Marvel's editors being willfully ignorant of what happens in other books at the company. They actually ended Sentry's struggle in his latest miniseries and not even a few months later, another writer in another book just threw that piece of character development out the window.

Not Sentry's problem, it's the writer's and editor's fault here. There hasn't been a good Sentry comic in YEARS, and then the one where he merged with Void came out and it was a banger, then the Annihilation Scourge happened which used him well. Then mfs are ignorant enough to completely ignore or not even study all of that and have him being regular again for KIB. Honestly a rookie mistake for someone I thought was a good writer

Who in his Last Appearance got a "Massive Upgrade" only to have Thor yoink it, push it back into him, then Thor Detonated him like a Bomb. So atm he's dead, killed by Herald-All Father-Phoenix Son-Thor... 😂 (He'll be back obviously) But as for Hulk they actually found a way to write him a Killer Series so he no longer has to be the Measuring Stick for the newest Villain, if only they could do that for Sentry...

Marvel needs to stop using The Sentry to substitute poor writing. He deserves better treatment. The character needs a long term writer with a positive and definitive run. That way Marvel will stop the bs. The Sentry should be able to defeat anyone honestly. Make him an isolated cosmic entity that actually SAVES the day on occasion.

Blame Cates. That is the only reason. He is probably the most popular writer Marvel has right now and he has demonstrated a dislike for characters like that, so until he changes his mind, we will get this sort of treatment of a incredibly maligned guy. That being said, let me put my tinfoil hat on: Fiege has started to allow peaks behind the MCU thought processes with statements about how the MCU does not need the source material (read: comics) and can write the films on their own. What if it is now the MCU and Feige and Alonso that are dictating the editorial direction of the books? We also know that these two have a real agenda they are pushing with their public comments about white males and their place in the MCU. So some powerful Marvel characters who fit the bill and emasculated to, let’s be frank, lesser characters. BlackBolt, Sentry, Iron Fist, Legion, even current Captain America. Shame on them.

I am enjoying the residual stories from the King In Black storyline that are still coming out. It's like seeing the behind the scene moments in a heist movie. I would definitely love to see a mini series of the Valkyries and their role in the Marvel universe. To be real, I would love to see Storm revisit this part of her history as well. Great broadcast!!! I personally didn't like how the Sentry was done in KIB, Its not because I'm a big fan of his character but the fact that he really felt out of place in that storyline and it didn't match up with the continuity. Sentry was suppose to be in the negative zone during this and was suppose to be merged with the Void, him appearing out of no where was random and him assisting the avengers out of no where as if he didn't just molly whop them last month Lols. The encounter with Knull was also weird and disappointing(not because of the result) Sentry with the list of abilities tries to lift Knull up and take him into space? Lols then Mathew Rosenberg said that Sentry could of done some major damage to Knull had he unleashed his power in the form of a bomb which still didn't make sense as to why he didn't perform this method as Knull was ripping him to shreds, Then in this book he does nothing except getting kidnapped and tortured Lols Donny Cates heavily hinted that we'll see sentry again in his Thor book but TBH I'm not interested in seeing him again especially under the pencil of Cates or Jason Aaron.

I Hate what marvel does with sentry. They showcased how op he was in annihilation scourge with him incinerating those entities that killed death and him tearing apart space with his bare hands when he wasn't even merged with the void and then another author decides to incorporate sentry into his story and completely ruin all the hype that was built up in the last arc he was in. Marvel should avoid letting writers use characters they haven't done enough research on. I'm not saying this just because I'm a fan of his, it's also because he felt so goddamn out of place in the knull storyline. He wasn't even suppose to be their in the first place. He stayed in the negative zone a couple week prior and he was merged as well. Seeing him just pop out of nowhere without being merged caught me off guard. They didn't even have to include him in the arc if they weren't planning to do anything interesting with him. They should just create a new sentry series to complete revamp his character and to also build upon his character and struggles. The 2018 or 2019 sentry mini series did well which is why I'm wondering why didn't decide to make a full fledged series of him.
