Dopey Husky On Sedatives Doesn’t Know He’s At The Beach!

We took Key to the vets to have his liver levels tested and to have a liver ultrasound to check everything was ok, after a previously higher than normal liver blood test. The night before the appointment he needed to take sedatives so he was calm for his ultrasound so that he didn't need a full aesthetic. He was in his own world for most of the day!

The last time that my SkipJack had to get sedated when he was coming out it he started howling and singing then would doze off back to sleep and waking and start howling and singing again. Just wanted to mention that keeping his paw pads shaved regularely helps to avoid slippage that often results in ligament/tendon/ bone injuries (depending on how fast they were going when slip n' falling especially around a corner. I've seen many surgeries performed solely due to furry feet vs slippery floors. I promised myself that if I ever move & get another dog in the future I will install cork floors as they are the safest, least slippery and forgiving floors for our furry family members! Oh..also keeping the pads shaved the way a groomer would allows the parent to properly check for debris and thorns, glass etc that otherwise may go undetected. My friend right now is nursing his dog back to health from contracting tetanus. No one person not even the vet thought she would survive it. 🥺

Key looks soo cute while out of it on these drugs bet he met up with Sherps & they had a really good time catching up together. Key will be totally fine in a couple of days when the drugs are totally out of his system. As someone who's had similar medicines i can tell you i felt the same way when i took them. Went from being talkative to being really spaced out. So i can say the effects are really similar on humans too. It's just strange to see key so chilled out, but i get it. I can tell you as soon as the effects wear out he'll be talking again. 👍 Poor key! Wishing you all the best buddy!

Hi Jodie and Key! I take 3600 mgs of gabapentin daily for severe neuropathy. I wish it made me feel spaced out! lol. I also had taken trazadone several years ago for depression and that one made me feel like a zombie! My 3 children were little then so I couldn’t continue taking it. Thank you for making this video for us..I’ve been so very worried about precious Key! I love him so much!! ❤️💙

Key was happy his loving mum was taking care of him every step of the way. Especially, when Key was heavily sedated on those sedatives. Jodie, I’m so glad you were allowed to be in the room for the ultrasound. Of course no one else has access to the belly, other than you and Nan, and certain family and friends. No strangers near his belly allowed. He definitely gave his consent once his mum was there, and then the Vets could take his blood, and do the ultrasound. He may not have known he was at the beach, but he knows his mum is always there for him, giving him love, and taking care of him. I love when he gives you his smiles Jodie. He’s saying all I need is my mum and Nan to be happy, family and friends too. He’s eating, drinking and sleeping well. I’m so happy for you that Key’s ultrasound came out clear on his liver, stomach, etc. Keeping you all in my prayers that Key is healthy.
