Have ZUHUD and Allah will Love you | LIGHT SERIES with Ustadh Najib Ayoubi

The world can be a dangerous place as it is full of temptations and desires. They are not always bad but having too much desires and temptations can be intoxicating to the heart and soul. Especially to a heart that is still searching for the Creator and the deen. That is why it is important to understand for us to always practice Zuhd.
Zuhd is when you distance yourself from anything that diverts you from the path of Allah. The path of Allah is Islam and our ultimate goal is the akhirah. Having zuhd helps us to focus on our goal of achieving Jannah as we are not distracted by worldly desires. It is the quality of recognising the insignificance of this dunya and to detach it from one’s heart.
Hadith:
A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked to be guided to an action that if he does it, Allah will love him and the people will also love him. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded by saying: “Have Zuhd in this world, Allah will love you, and have zuhd regarding what other people possess, the people will love you.” [Ibn Majah]
