Amanda and I are still sick for past the 12 days now. Went to the doctors told us we have cold. Went back to the doctors for a second time. Told us that we have a cold and allergies so we have to take allergy meds from now to September. Amanda was happy to hear that you hope she gets better. Good evening Paul! Fantastic color on those flowers....thank you Mrs. H!! I recently tired the Dorco ST301 blades...I think those are made in S. Korea, but the package didn't say. It was an okay blade...did the job, but won't be breaking into my Top Tier. Of course, I will use a few to see if the performance can be elevated by pairing it with a specific razor. I find Crystal blades are not very good generally, but when I pair it with the Muhle R41 it is the best blade for the job and I get outstanding results. The bad shave days, I had a few of those...last one was just two days ago. I used a 1924 Gillette New Improved Bostonian paired with a Kai blade. Excellent WTG pass. Disaster struck on the XTG pass and ATG the shave turned into a Horror Show...a true blood bath. You just have days as these; heal and move on! I agree with those plastic DE razors make excellent travel companions. I wouldn't be much bothered if it went missing. I would be gutted if one of my rare or expensive razors disappeared. Another agreed upon point; one doesn't need expensive gear to get an excellent shave. I feel the same way about having an adult beverage too early in the day. I think of it as afternoon/evening refreshment. I have made exceptions, such as Champagne with brunch or a Bloody Mary with breakfast on special occasions. Some folks think Budweiser is the breakfast of champions! lol. Sir Rodger Moore was the bond with the best sense of humor. Daniel Craig is the bond that is most interesting to watch, very action packed. That was a superb shave, Paul! You lead the way in demonstrating how to get a superior shave. Take care.

There is a hidden bonus in that Dorco razor. It was advertised as semi adjustable, since you can twist the head a quarter turn out. You get just the right bit of umpf to the shave. PAA recently done a similar thing with their Ascension razor. A nice comfortable little shaver.

Got my Paul H brush last week. Quite nice for 20€. Really nice handle. The knot is great, only looks of the knot are bad. Looks similar to the Indian Nylon Gilette brush I own wich really sucks. As for inexpensive, have you ever tried a Giellte Guard? After I did sometinh really stupid yesterday and really rippe my face I used a Guard today and was impressed with the close shave this brilliant cheap razor produced.

As for vintage razors, I'd like to put in a good word for the non-adjustable Gillette Super Speeds, for anyone of any degree of shaving experience. (Sweet!) My Irish grandmother is probably pleased in the hereafter that one's fond of the Irish. This Dorco razor is actually continuously adjustable: rotating the separate portios of the handle will loosen or tighten the cap on the guard, thereby varying blade gap. I suspect that this isn't accitdental, because there are ridges on the two portions of the handle that can operate as calibration tic-marks so as to make the aggression setting repeatable. I agree that Machiavellian bosses get to be bosses by being personable and charming when not otherwise occupied stabbing one in the back. Thanks again for the work underlying the videos. Regards.

Hi Paul. Bought two of those razors about a year ago on the recommendation of The Northern Shaver from Canada. As you said they`re very inexpensive and do a good job. Don`t know if you knew this but they are somewhat adjustable if you back off the handle for a more aggressive shave. A tight screw for a milder shave. Good job, thank you.👍

Those blades were the first I ever tried a few years ago. I hated them and thought they were junk. I tried one again last week just for the heck of it and got several great shaves from it. I find it on par with the Astra Super Platinum or Treet Platinum blades personally.

I used both the Dorco 300 and 301 when I first came back to wet shaving, didn't like either. Might take a look at them again on a leg shave. I do, however, love the Dorco Prime Blade.

The Witch Hazel calms the skin, not a strong or lasting scent, the balms are quite mild too, so usually the aftershave is not affected scent wise. Many thanks .

I absolutely have never had any issues/cuts/nicks/hangs and etc with the head of a razor regardless how pronounced the "overhang" is...I recall, once, trying to see if I could get it to bump into a nostril or earlobe and nada... As for James Bond; I take a page from your attitude towards all the different safety razors. I take each characterization "for what it is" and watch that iteration of James Bond by whichever actor who happens to be on the screen without getting into the whole, "who's is the best or who is your favorite". This said, there is a single incarnation from the group whom I dislike but that is due to how this version of Bond behaves; not a dislike of actor who is playing the role.
