Doreen Virtue and her Deck of Demons

Recently I heard Doreen Virtue did an about face (not so recently) and became Christian. I decided to do a deep dive and what is extra remarkable is she has denounced all things she did previously as demonic. So I had some thoughts and wanted to share! 🤣🙏❤️

She lost an awful lot of money when she came to the true faith and she has tried to get all her books & cards removed from sale but is unable to - however she doesn't take any of the money from those anymore. I agree that everyone has a right to believe what they want but because Doreen was such a public figure she had to go to public when she came to faith. I followed Doreen when she (& I) were in the New Age and since she came to faith (which was after me) and I can 100% say her change of faith was very genuine and real She has even studying theology to truly understand.

I am actually someone who defected from Christianity... and found Self Realization (that our Core Essence IS Source God and we are all fractal of that God). And from my experience, Christianity is all about FEAR and GUILT... and those things are a foundation of "sinking sand". First, we fall into the error of Self condemnation, which leads to severe insecurity, and then from that insecurity (unconsciously) we start accusing the world around us. It is easy to miss that modern Christianity has turned the Bible, Jesus and Christ into idols that then must be defended. That a loving God would create an eternal hellscape his precious creations are destined for should be a red flag for those with a deep knowing of the goodness of God. Plus when you add eternal damnation to the spiritual game, terrible atrocities become justifiable in the name of this “loving” entity. Once hate, fear and guilt become part of a God conversation, the faith has lost its way. I love aspects of Christianity, but I feel if we are not willing to have real conversations around these pluralities in the faith we are doing ourselves and our divine core a great disservice. Well said about a loving god. As for Doreen, I think it's all about money because she pretty much went broke trying to save rescued animals at her 47-acre property in Hawaii. There's a lot of money to be made in the Christian faith, just ask the super churches in the US, and the type of Christian she's become must renounce and condemn anything that even has a sniff of paganism.

Doreen lost most of her fortune by converting to christianity. New age is demonic, you can lie to yourself until you will reach the grave, but it won't change reality. She used to teach how to connect, communicate with AA's Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel ... to heal ourselves, stay in touch with God within us. She and her artists and fellows created a lot of Beautiful decks that reflect major and minor archetypes that we, as human Beings all experience as we mature. She published many books and decks and taught seminars for certifications. I adored her .. I am Roman Catholic and have been in Love with God since Ever. Her classes were internationally held. I really liked her especially because she was very much paving a path that onterested me. Then, a whole lot of life happened within her. I stopped following her when she stopped being Grateful to God, she began to claim some powers were hers which, to ME, was not resonant with my beliefs. ^^ She put up a now gone video sharing her experience when Jesus came to her and set her on a new path. When she finally let Him in after He told her to not look to the cards for answers but to come diectly to Him. What an experience for her. She immediately stopped teaching all the classes, etc. Masses of people who had received certification classes came after her in ways that make me cry. She practiced what she preached and stayed true to her path. She teaches about The Bible now. When she first started she was so excited about her new path, her teachings jumped all over the place like the youngest Bible study class after an inexperienced teacher left sugar out before class. She had unrelated things going on that I have seen strong men crumble under. She is no longer my cup of tea but I am 100% accountable for everything that appears in my life. I Pray we are all able to stay focused on our little light and lead or teach by the way we live. The Only Beings that know who I am are Me and God. I have Faith he put me here to learn, teach, do, Love the thing he put me here to do. I am Praying for His Immeasurable and Inconceivable Light to cleanse and recharge the collective consciousness and help us to remember that what we do to each other, we do unto Him. Thank You, Lord for forgiveness, Grace and reminding us all that if we don't know a Bible teaching or verse right now, remember The Golden Rule. Do Unto Others As You Would Have Done To You. So....an opinion that might be controversial for some. Dont come for me, because this is a pondering point.... The new age movement attracted a large number of female followers (yes, men too, but it was huge for women and women viewers from the Church of Oprah). It was largely about women shining their light, being authentic, and living their best selves. Doreen's anti new age Christianity coincides with the rise of female oppression, the removal of women's rights (particularly in the usa), and the general going backwards in society. Religion everywhere seeks to opress women, so there seems to be a correlation here.

Doreen is correct and apologetic for everything she used to do. many who got out of new age also make the distinction, and it's not about telling others they're wrong, it's about " I was wrong and so is what I all did" .. Also: some people may be religious, following religion; Doreen & others are following Christ for who Christ said he was: the (singular) Son of God, -first- among many. your arguments about how you 'feel' about 'religion' have been dismantled by more thorough apologists. it's not about your feelings, it's about who He says he is. we can put ourselves in the center to determine our own way & our own 'salvation', but what Doreen & others did was to put themselves out of their 'center' and let God take that center place. our perspective changes when we let God be God and us as loved creation, rightly reconciled (and forgiven by Him), and that welcome invitation is open to everyone, but on God's terms, not ours.

Love that you talked about this subject that was in my mind for a while during that time. It's very unfortunate that she turns so extreme. Years ago, I encountered Jesus in a yoga and spiritual retreat from a meditation when I was a non-believer. Since then, I have followed Jesus that I thought I never would because of the "Christianity" slogans I saw when I was a kid, like if you don't believe in Jesus, you may go to hell, etc. Now I understand that's not Jesus or the church I attended taught such a way. Had Doreen Virtue used her influence in the right way, she could've brought more people to Jesus, instead of turning people away. God is love and almighty, and He can use anything and anyone to do good. There's really no need that she threw the baby out with the bath water that hurts her so many fans. I used to buy her books to gain some insights. But I stopped following her because of the judgemental, condemnation message that's more religious, I just don't feel that's how you approach, even if that's what claims to be Christ. And make people think that is "Christianality" all about. Jesus didn't die for us to have a religion. He died to take away our sins and help us live our lives more fully(John 10:10). Christianity is not about the religious view but loves and serves one another. I pray that people or Christ followers drop your judgment and narrow views on God. He can turn what you think is 'bad' into good with a purpose(Romans 8:28).

I think you need to watch Doreen’s recent video on Mindfulness Exposed in it she explains why she has taken the path she has taken concerning her previous New Age beliefs. I respect her for explaining that. She was searching for answers & found answers not in her New Age teachings but found them by placing her faith in Jesus and after that she began to see she needed to explain why she can’t do & promote what she did & promoted before. Good on her for doing that publicly. If you knew something was hurtful or was leading others along a wrong path that you taught others to follow then expect that person not to make a public correction? I see it as a demonstration of love & humility towards those who she once led before. It’s hard to say ‘I was wrong’ but Doreen has done just that. It’s a demonstration of humility and I commend her for that.

About a year before she made this change I had a very negative experience with those angel cards. I´m convinced it was supernatural in nature and they were mocking me. I threw them away, immediately. I have also watched a friend go through this. She was the most accepting person I had known for many years. Then when she joined a church she changed over the months. All friends that she once loved were now being judged by her, all other beliefs were all of a sudden "of the devil," and most horrible of all, I feel like I lost a very good friend. I’ve done it a lot too and mainly encountered sweat. And some slight soreness from time to time. Yoga is actually a practice to connect with God. But then so is meditation and I was raised to believe that was channeling demons as well. I have to question why Christian’s are so afraid of so many things when we worship such a big loving all powerful God? Its odd to think He set us up to fail in some kind of dangerous obstacle course where even stretching is out to get us. An all powerful God is logical. Consistent. All loving all the time. And not overthrown by a workout. But as we have the creative power of God in our minds… wherever we put our faith we create and so if we believe it, it will become so! In order to understand this, one has to have a multi-dimensional awareness. Most people only inquire at a mental/intellectual level... the conscious mind, and totally discount the other dimensional reality of the subconscious mind (the UNAWARE realm). How can the intellectual dimension of our 3D mind which is "logic" based only, incorporate the dimension of "feeling" and "energy". It can't when isolated and relied upon as the sole source for navigating the material world. We have 5 dimensions to our being, but are not fully aware to them all... physical, mental, psychological/emotional, spiritual/metaphysical. Or one could compare this to the 5 brain waves that determine our experiences with consciousness.

When I read up on her life change I was disappointed and lost respect for her a little. I really found her inspiring in my own spiritual journey. And I didn’t understand the politics behind her decision. I totally agree she didn’t need to put down the spiritual path as some people can’t be reached by mainstream Christianity. The relationship with the deck has nothing to do with her, and that's the same for all my decks. I think she had so many decks that she had saturated the "new age" market. She was everywhere. Also I think at some point things changed at Hay House because of Louise's advancing age and the guy who took over did things differently. Astrologer Mark Husson talked about that awhile ago. Aside from that, it always seemed to me that Doreen was spacey when I saw her on KZbin. It's hard to believe she actually wrote the decks and books, IMO.

It’s confusing what happened with Doreen. I studied with her in 2007 and was actually surprised at how ‘Disney’ my whole week was with her, it felt quite fake and shallow and I was a little disappointed…I just took away what resonated, but since that time moved away from her work. Btw there were some extremely vulnerable people in that workshop week with her, and they put a huge amount of trust in her; I sincerely hope these people have not been negatively affected by her more recent beliefs and behaviors.

If she said she was Christian and stopped there, that would've been fine, angels fit well into the Christian belief system. The annoying part is when started denouncing everything she's done and said. It is so beautiful that you have a strong faith and relationship with God that brings you happiness. But if what you are saying is true…how do you know God, the “Potter” as you call him would have created only one way to find Him when he created so many varieties of pottery. Isn’t that assuming you know and understand this divine enigma? Your interpretation of God sounds quite human actually… superior and condescending, not to speak of the horrific hate He would have in His heart to send his creations to eternal damnation if they not only don’t find him but refuse to submit to ONE way ALONE to find salvation. And why don’t we encourage children to blindly submit to their elders the same way? Or maybe you do. As someone who deeply believes in and loves an actual all powerful, loving God I am confused by this common painting of him as a shallow, capricious, condescending overlord that demands worship and ultimate ruling but also gave us free will and many, many options. To see through this as a ridiculous incongruent caricature of the actual creator does not take much human logic at all, much less a divine level of competency. God is absolutely logical and also, GOOD. And good God’s also give explanations and encourage questioning and exploration (like God parents), because they trust in the perfection of their own creation. In his infinite wisdom and power He would not create something with free will to demand it to be given up. Or create endless variety to demand we all believe or think the same. A good loving God would share his power (and did) and create very powerful creations (and did) and create them all equal (and did) and send them all to heaven (and does) and give them as many options to find Him as they each individually need to express their ever expanding variety and beauty. Jesus was an IDEAL, not an IDOL and sadly loses his real message and power in being raised to deity status by those who refuse to question or demand logic from their faith or biblical interpreters. As he said… all these things I have done you will do and more. He was talking to us…God’s other powerful creations who get lost in believing ourselves weak. This is dishonoring our creator. When we made Jesus an idol he becomes an unachievable standard, and as such, no one even attempts to truly live how he did but relies on checking the right “belief” box to attain eternal salvation, sadly generating little personal change (but plenty of guilt and shame) and in this and only this…does God’s true adversary, the ego mind, prevail…albeit temporarily. I do love the book of Isaiah and appreciate it sharing the verse! And how about that Doreen though? And don’t it find it fascinating that voices she now calls demonic converted her to Christianity? Thankfully all things work for good and the glory of God and the teachings of Jesus. 🙏❤️

She even said that Doreen may have come to realize that all the angels,saints and ascended masters that she'd been channeling were ' false light beings',and,she freaked out and ran to very closeminded Christianity. I was wondering why Virtue (an ironic last name) went on a total 180 degrees, and as much as she was talking about her conversion, she was also getting other Reformed Calvinist Christians of prior traditions in their background to diss the earlier traditions such as Anglicanism, Catholicism, Orthodoxy which all had a very strong basis in ritual. All I would say is that we are each on our separate journeys. Unfortunately for Doreen, hers is being played out in plain sight. I think we should be showing her understanding and sending her love. Church leaders who talk of demons are just spreading fear. I understand from the spiritual guidance I have received, that the best thing to do is to shine the light of love and understanding on any negative energy that you encounter. Love will always overcome fear. Thoughts of demons are just that, energetic thoughtforms that will grow in power the more energy you give to them. Don't give them your energy, and show Doreen compassion and understanding, and hold a loving energetic space for her. And we might just see her coming out the other side of this stretch of her journey, even stronger than she was before, bringing a few other people with her. Perhaps this is something Doreen is being asked to do, but she just doesn't understand that yet.

You're going to have some trouble. Hay House, the primary publisher of her books agreed to stop publishing any of her former work as a solo author, per her request. If she had a co-author, like Radleigh Valentine's, they're now reprinting the work under his name alone or the other author's name alone.

I have a couple of her books on angels, etc and I agree that maybe Doreen is a person who is easily influenced. Some of her work was very nice, but some I felt was 'light-weight" - I didn't get much out of it. We can alll learn from anybody though and I would not negate her work, as she is doing now ironically...I like Abraham Hicks teachings, though at first I found them to be light weight as well, on further looking into them, decided they were very helpful, though not perfect either. I like Revealing light tarot reader Maryann, and Linda G the commanche psychic as well, also the Edgar Cayce books, the Course in Miracles, and what I call companion books to it by Gary Renard, such as the Disappearance of the Universe, etc. I would recommend these to anyone who is interested, though as all of them are works put out by humans they will not be perfect I believe ...
