I LOVED this entire storyline for so many reasons, and is the only time I've really watched OLTL (2001-04). l) A truly great sl will spill over into most of the characters -- Dorian marrying Mitch. 2) They didn't rewrite history from 1986, but just continued with more surprises. 3) Brought back original actors Mitch and Allison, and because Vicki and Jessica were still on, provided endless flashback opportunities. 4) Did not involve 30 teenagers! 5) Story focused on veterans! PERFECTION!

She also hedonistically persued adulterous affairs without much thought as to how it would negatively affect her children. If that's not immature and irresponsible, I don't know what is. And Viki is now stuck with two immature twin daughters who hate each other and who have frequent slapfests. 🤣🤣🤣 Yeh, it was a show of fortitude that Dorian didn't slap Viki back, especially since we know how hot-tempered and emotional Dorian was.

She couldn't be a good example for her children. Dorian was the only courageous person who showed Viki her hypocrisy being adulterous. Viki was lucky enough to get a foolish husband like Clint, who stopped Dorian from humiliating Viki in public in those time.

Viki did a fine job humiliating herself and ruining her own reputation, not to mention alienating her kids and raising Jessica to be the mess that she is today. Viki created that mess and drama on her own without Dorian's help Clint, who wasn't too bright and who was rather immature and selfish also, never really "stopped" Dorian from anything. It was great to see Clint bring about his own downfall. And it was great to see Dorian gain more allies during the show's run and see her eventually triumph. She was a lot safer and a lot more free in DC, a large, diverse city. Dorian was actually the true hero of this series, not Viki and not the Buchanans.

Glad OLTL corrected that story (Mitch fathered one of Viki's twin daughters) in the reboot. It was a little bit over the top. In the end, Clint was father to both Jess and Nat.

@@JhomasE: Good, glad you see it. I'm calling it as I see it also. Dorian and Viki _both_ had their faults and wrongdoings, but unlike Viki, Dorian was honest and open about her flaws. Dorian was a sharp, sensitive, perceptive streetwise lady who ultimately triumphed in the end. She was able to escape to DC in the end to a high congressional position while Viki was stuck in Llanview with two sons who were distant from her, two bickering, dysfunctional twin daughters who hated each other and a on-and-off criminal husband. I suspect that Dorian was far safer and happier in a big, diverse city like DC where she was free to be her brash, zany self without self-righteous hypocrites like Viki around.

Mitch came back from the dead in 2002 and took the lord fortune in 2003 and that's how they wrote Dorian back in again after Robin left after a producer literally killed Dorians husband after only less then a year married and sent Cassie back to an insane asylum. The producer and writers gone how ever they made Robin take a massive pay cut but they worked it that Dorian finally ran out of her own money living abroad with drake (the story that took Robin away from oltl in 2000) and after Dorian got her hands on some of Mitchs assets it was revealed that Dorian was actually doing this to finally get back at Mitch herself for Cassie and Blair but Dorian temporary got llanfair and back to a wealthy status.

Dorian was a big spender, but was never careless with her money or her businesses. Even Cassie back in the 1990s commented as much that her mum managed every penny of her fortune carefully. ​@@CoryraisaThose going broke storylines were always silly to me. I remember seeing older episodes where Dorian #2 & #3 were meeting with financial advisors discussing Lord, Inc holdings. I also heard a scene on here (wish there was video footage) of Dorian #1 doing some shady business deals to make more money. This character has ALWAYS been hands-on about business management.They also know how to stash money overseas in hidden accounts. People like that don't go broke. But they will pretend to for the IRS - LOL!

She also had worked her way not only through university, but medical school. It was established by 1993 that she did not come from a wealthy family and had no wealthy relatives. I think also she learned to invest wisely while in school, so that's most likely where she gained most of her fortune.

they not only rewrote history from 1986--they rewrote it from 1976 and there was no resolution to the whole Victor Lord raped Viki repeatedly when she was a child and created all her personalities. there were so many holes in this storyline it looked like swiss cheese--the flashbacks were not appropriate and ifthat were the case--they needed ot bring back ava haddad as cassie. there was no explanation as to why she would marry the man she "killed" while he was trying to rape her daughter
