About Dorian Electra:
Rising pop star Dorian Electra (pronouns: they/them/theirs) makes music that defies gender norms. I've listened to this everyday for the last couple months... It's helped me a lot. I had completely given up on being happy with who I am. I thought it was impossible to change. I thought I would be held prisoner in this body forever. I'd stopped finding a reason to get out of bed every morning. I'd quit my job, and hadn't left the house in over a year. All due to the hate I felt for myself, and the cripplingly low self-confidence that brought. I couldn't stand another person even looking at me. I couldn't even look at myself. I just felt like the scum of the Earth. But this is my workout playlist now. I've been eating healthy and working out everyday for the past 2 months, along with other self-care habits I was neglecting. It seemed impossible, but changes are slowly happening, both mentally and physically. I'm hoping once I reach my target weight, I can cut my hair short and get a binder, which I think will boost my confidence through the roof. Then I can get a job and save up for top surgery (or find insurance that covers it, which would be a life saver) I haven't told anyone that I plan to transition. My family is very conservative and openly homophobic and transphobic. But I don't care. I just want to be happy. I would have never found the strength to start this journey without this album, Dorian... so thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You amaze me everyday. I'm just so grateful. I wish you the best in everything you do, I love you so, so much!
