I think it’s just because of his delivery. He’s definitely intelligent about the music business and beyond, but he’s not the most debonair person. He overtalks people a lot and that can rub people the wrong way. If you can get past that and see the jewels, you’ll see why he’s where he is.

It’s really the group thinking mentality because i never understood this either. I’m not a fan of Russ music but I respect his honesty and intelligence about the music industry. Social Media sometimes never gives a legit why they dislike someone, then their friends jump on it, so on and so forth. They just wanna piggyback and hate for no reason. I see it all the time.

I'm goin to start this off by saying thank you for this video.I'm a huge fan of you videos, and always take interest in the gems dropped in each submission. Im a few days late getting to it, but I (we) REALLY needed this. As an independent artist and entrepreneur myself, I too, struggled with appreciating everything that I've accomplished up to this point in comparison to where I started at. I've played shows where I didn't even EXPECT payment (cuz i was REALLY NEW to the local scene circa 2018) and got bread for it. I've developed a small yet legitimate support group (about 100 or so true "fans" out of 1000+ "followers" on IG). I found the BEST ACCOUNTABILITY group of like-minded go-getters and artists like myself just last year, and learned more in 9 months of weekly Zoom sessions than i have the previous 10 years of workin on my craft alone. I still have a LOOOOONG way to go, but where i came from is MILES APART from where i am now mentally, spiritually and creatively. To anyone reading this; take heed of the theme of this video. Stay focused, but remember to celebrate the small victories along the way. Don't let "likes" (or a lack of) go to your head. Build on your craft and keep grinding even if no one's watching. Use that time as rehearsal for when you finally DO find your audience. Stay humble and stay positive and I can assure you that what you're lookin for will come your way in one form or another. Peace and love y'all.

I would not be surprised if the “hate Russ movement “ was actually marketed by labels. He breaks the mold. He’s able to pay for the entire process of working a song from the moment it’s recorded to the moment it’s marketed. That’s some expensive shit and he can do It all on his own PLUS he tells people how he does it PLUS he also says fuck the labels. PLUS he’s actually a good example of how to do it on his own. They don’t want that shit. He’s the competition to them not to us. The only decent argument Ihear people say is “he’s so cocky and arrogant” that’s prolly coming from 30 seconds of a much longer video where he’s dropping whole ass gems for a hour straight. And his book is very relatable if your indie rn.

You’re just soft bro, and anyone who’s soft enough to get mad or feel disrespected when someone’s enlightening you you can’t play to those people. We’re in a world where hey if 900k out of 1 million ppl feel that way oh well, I’ll happily take the 100k that remain that don’t complain, and then go get another 100k out of 900k. The world is huge. The internet is here. No more catering to ppl, there’s enough ppl who will fuck with you that the percentage the universe gives you is more than gracious. DXNNIDEVTH out

He came off as arrogant in his first interview I saw of his and then I was like who the hell does he thinks he is and I felt some type a way but if I’m real honest if you lacking confidence Or feel insecure with self or have no type of self belief system your naturally going to feel offended by his energy which I was those things back then because if you put another confident person right beside him they’re not going to feel there light dimming down in any way or form because they believe in themselves and there love themselves they’re not going to get offended by Russ it’s only the insecure one and self doubt all the time that get offended is what I observed on the internet But then once I looked at more of his interviews listen to his music it started to become hard to dislike him because he has great music and he gots a good message and he was giving knowledge for free I’ve actually been a fan of his for like 4 years now and got his book it’s all in your head when you think about it really is all in your head Russ high key help me get to start believing in myself and start betting on myself I’m so glad that I didn’t just push his content to the curve just because I was living in that low frequency and lack the self belief I I’m glad I seen it all the way through because I wouldn’t never known anything about the music business in the beginning I didn’t even know you could make money from music and do it independently russ was the only artist at that time giving game for what all I know I was only 17 and was only focusing on getting by in school with C’s😂 I hated school but now I’m learning more about music and the marketing all that stuff now
