I'm impressed with this 70's tone she's revisted, intentionally or unintentionally, and it's making me question my own expertise saying she's a mezzo soprano after listening to this video lol. In my expertise this is normally how we determine if a woman is a mezzo soprano and maybe you can come up with your own conclusions. So to determine if a woman is a mezzo-soprano, we look at a few things. First, we consider her vocal range. Mezzo-sopranos can sing notes that are not too high or too low. Their range usually goes from the A below middle C to the A two octaves above middle C. Next, we look at the part of her range where her voice feels most comfortable. This is called the tessitura. Mezzo-sopranos usually feel most comfortable singing in the middle and lower-middle part of their range. Mezzo-sopranos have a unique sound. Their voices are often darker and richer compared to higher voices like sopranos. They have a warm and velvety quality to their sound. Mezzo-sopranos also need to be flexible and agile with their voice. They should be able to do fancy vocal tricks like melodic runs and trills. Remember, determining someone's voice type isn't always easy, but again in my expertise I believe that she is based on my music studies. Now if would've based my decision on this video alone from just that A5 she hit I would probably say different, but after studying these "girls" for years. Now I have a problem when people call my favorite which is Twinkie a mezzo soprano. How can a mezzo soprano has a range from her lowest note I've heard with my ears is a B2 and the highest note I've heard with my ears is a F6 🤯 Do you still think she's a mezzo soprano? Talking about Dorinda.

@@princechristophermcmillon7562 I'd say Dorinda has always had the highest voice out of the sisters. People just can't get past the rasp. Dorinda has always had a bright and girly timbre. Even to this day Dorinda has the brightest timbre out of all the sisters. Some say she has a hard time hitting notes Twinkie and Karen can hit. The reason it takes a bit more effort is because Dorinda is actually belting (pulling chest) and not mixing like her sisters. Even with that in mind that just proves even more that Dorinda is a soprano. She's literally pulling her speaking voice above the soprano passagio (F#5/G5).

I have never heard Dorinda hit a Bb6 like Karen or an F6 like Twinkie. Additionally, I have never heard Dorinda mix her voice to hit her high notes, If she were to mix her voice, she could potentially reach higher notes than what we have heard from her, similar to how Karen had to adapt when her voice changed. Dorinda belts out all her high notes, but I must say I was very impressed with the A5 she hit. It was truly impressive.
