As a little girl I thought men/ boys in their suit pants and vests were so handsome. Now here I am almost 50 and I wish suits were made like they used to be and still came with vests. I mean, seriously, isn’t Gordon Macrae just as handsome as he can be in that vest?!

Yes he sure is! I agree with you 200%. Even if a man was a little (or a lot) rough around the edges, a nice set of clothes made all the difference.

Mary Wickes played domestics, nurses, and such... good, industrious workers you could rely on, but she doesn't take any guff from anybody. I think everyone here has seen her countless times and still gets a warm, familiar feeling the moment she's in a scene, no matter what film.

Not a better living to be made as a housekeeper! She was always busy in Hollywood. She did deviate a few times though as a nun. Great in every role she ever had, and there were lots of them!

Lyrics: 00:01 Every morning, every evening Ain't we got fun? Not much money, oh, but honey Ain't we got fun? The rent's unpaid, dear We haven't a car But in any way, dear We'll stay as we are Even if we owe the grocer Don't we have fun Tax collector's getting closer Still we have fun There's nothing surer The rich get rich and the poor get poorer In the meantime, in between time Ain't we got fun? Don't we have fun? Still we have fun Even if we owe the grocer Don't we have fun? Tax collector's getting closer Ooh, what fun There's nothing surer The rich get rich and the poor get poorer In the meantime, in between time Don't we have fun?

Doris Day was a true superstar. Look at her resume of male stars that she did movies with. She was hot well into her 50s. I remember when James Cagney won the AFI lifetime achievement award and she came on stage to pay tribute to Cagney. She still had a killer figure even in her 50s. Too bad she never made a movie where she played a suburban cougar like Mrs. Robinson.

Fun little number, even if it is a bit anachronistic. I believe it is a year or two ahead of the movie setting. Of course, so were several in the first film "On Moonlight Bay". Regardless, I love both films.
@Dallas_K
@Dallas_K 3 жыл бұрын
They definitely put all of the tunes for both films in a grab-bag and really shook it up. Aunt Martha was dressed way too 20th century in the first one. Historical accuracy took a backseat for sure. Nevertheless, both were great movies I still enjoy.
