Yes, this was during the time she was Les Brown's "star vocalist" with his "Band of Renown", circa 1941.

What goofs. Definitely Doris Day. She was a big band singer for years before she made films. Before that she was National ballroom dancing champion. For real. She's led many lives, and still kickin'!

Sure, it's her voice and in the 1940s she wore long hear.

I wasn't certain this was Ms. Day, but take your hands and cover her hair, watching only her face, and it becomes clear that it's Doris. :)

I was thinking that the dancer in the clip resembled Doris Day more than the singer did, but the vocalist does sound like her.

She is gorgeous! I just wish they could have discovered her more earlier, I like she looked just ravishing with that 1940s style to her, not that she wasn't at all attractive in the 1950s

I think it was in 1946!

I was not even born till long after and even I know this Doris. She did publicity stills for the studio with exactly the same look. Maybe you mom has begun to have memory lapses. Sure hope not and that she has a long wonderful life - but you can tell her that even a kid knows this is Doris.
