Like other comments, I also wish to thank Doris and crew of The Way We Wore for continuing to post content. Videos on things such as fashion, jewelry, accessories give me a "mind-vacations" away from the stress of reality. With all the treasures in the main store and the fabric section, there are so many themes: Art Deco, Asian, handcrafts, tailoring, gala styles that can be explored. I leave it up to the imagination of The Way We Wore.

The smocked peignoir set brought back memories for me. My late mother had a similar set, which I always wanted to be able to wear. I'm not sure what happened to it, and it wasn't quite as elegant as the one shown. The smocking made it seem very unique, and as Doris says, it offers a forgiving and yet flattering fit.

Thank for your videos Doris. We must have grown up around the same time. I'm located in the central valley, northern California, sorry to say I never visited your shop in San Francisco. I did have a very small boutique I shopped at in my 20's. The owner was from S.F. and brought in the most current fashion she could. Found myself always unable to choose, and several pieces went on law-a-way. When I was younger, my mother and I would spend two weeks in August every year in Los Angeles from the 1960's and 70's. Was lucky to have shopped some of the boutiques. Still had one or two pieces from that time period till recently. As I recall , many labels did not have well known names, just the fact they were a small CA boutiques. Would love to see some more pieces from then. A lot were knock offs from England mod era and Italian designers. I was built like twiggy back then, and my mother didn't think I could carry those hi end fashions off. The designer bell bottoms at that time were to die for. Love your channel and stay safe and well.

You said “amoebic”, and that piece really was. Oh my, Holly Harp! I bought something there back in the early 1970’s. Hearing those words really took me back. Everything they put in the front window I wanted to buy, but didn’t have that much money. And granny dresses, I loved them. The lounging pajamas from the 1920’s were fabulous, and right in line with the times having the colors of cream & green. Fabulous pieces, as always. Stay well, we need you out here.
