Father and son bonding time.
After discovering a way to keep his screaming baby happy, a dad decides to get some things done with his new found time. An outrageous idea with a hilarious core, Peace and Quiet is a commercial that explores fatherhood, and what lengths one man will go to for his son and his sanity. Just don't stop crunching those Doritos.
With a shoestring budget and crew, Creative Chops Studios set out to make a commercial for Doritos Crash-the-Superbowl competition in 2011. Peace and Quiet made it into the final top 20, but that is where our journey ended that year.
Sadly, Doritos has since canceled the competition after a decade-long run. The campaigns were a huge success on the USA Today Ad Meter (and we guess there were more than enough Doritos sold to creatives for production of their submissions to make it financially viable as well).
As for production and post, we shot the commercial in one day using a Canon 7D, a Kessler Cine-slider, and other gear and lighting. It was edited in Final Cut Pro and visual effects (such as the ping pong ball) were added using Adobe After Effects.
Parenting is hard and I don't know if Doritos can make it any easier, but in this story, they certainly do.
