Hey I bought RCCL at 65.00. Wish I would have bought it right after the pandemic at 18.00. It has gone crazy and I am soooo happy. It is my best performance. I have Carnival, NCL& Viking, too. All my cruise stocks are out doing the others. United should be doing better and so should Disney. They are both very busy! My poor Starbucks stock is miserable. What is up with that!

Large cruise ships have at least one officer whose job is entirely related to fire safety. They are responsible for training crew, testing and maintaining fire control systems, and monitoring those systems. A ship as large as Icon would have several fire officers. On top of that 100s of crew members are trained to respond to fire. I imagine that most of the security officers that work the gangway are on the fire squad, so that is why they had to shut down gangway while the fire was being fought. I wouldn't recommend jumping from the ship until your last option. Some of the people who died in the MGM Grand fire of 1980 died by jumping from their rooms despite being at almost no risk. Their rooms filled with smoke and they panicked.
