Your dorm gets the nice low frequency alarms, mine had a simplex sounder base in my tiny room outputting 85 db continous, ear splittingly loud

My dorm is the only one on campus that has the new low frequency sounder bases. All the rest either have the 85 db continuous sounder bases or fire alarm voice speakers.

Why did the alarm activate? Was there a glitch in the system or with some kids smoking?
