The Dornier Do 24 is a 1930s German three-engine flying boat designed by the Dornier Flugzeugwerke for maritime patrol and search and rescue. According to Dornier records, some 12,000 people were rescued by Do 24s during its flying career. A total of 279 were built among several factories from 1937 to 1945.

Die Dornier Do 24 war ein dreimotoriges, hochseefähiges Fernaufklärungsflugboot, das 1937 zum ersten Mal flog. Ursprünglich für die Niederlande gebaut, wurde es bis in die 1970er-Jahre vor allem zur Seenotrettung eingesetzt. Noch heute fliegt eine modernisierte Do 24 ATT.

Super video guys! Beautiful model & is it possible you (the RC Pilot) are also a real pilot (maybe like me, an old SAR Pilot with CAP- TEXAS Wing.._unable to hold a 3rd Class anymore) ? I ask because I love watching these models fly as a hobby of recent acquaintance. I notice some very obvious differences in skill levels between different RC Pilots. Who knows.....most of the guys I see are around my age (ancient, lol 😂) and it has crossed my mind that I might want to dip my toe into this a little further than watching vids on YT. Any advise for an old guy wanting to get started? I guess I would have to start with a model of a Cessna 150 huh? (Lololo, 😂😜😎) Thanks very much and do stay safe. GBU
