Thank you for this lovely video of Dorothy Hamill! You can see her years of “figure” training and “loops” in each step she takes, something unheard of today! Her edges are deep and clear. She comes out of each jump perfectly on deep edge. She feels the music and her love of skating is so apparent on her face. This is TRUE ice skating for pleasure, not jumps and points. How delightful!

Beautiful. She has the same grace and style as Princess Diana and Julie Andrews. Love it.
@kaymuldoon35757 жыл бұрын
Suzu M she actually reminds me of Princess Diana. She has similar facial expressions to Diana’s. Especially when she was younger (like when she was in the 1976 Olympics).

The legendary Dorothy Hamill has shown internal grace and beauty throughout these golden years on the ice. While those former greats fade forever into forgotten memories, Dorothy will continue to grace the ice. She is so blessed to have these gifts that were bestowed onto her. Thank you Dorothy for being you!

Love her...she was in the era when skaters took their time and moved to the music so fluidly. Jumps were a part of the program and not for a competitive edge.
@mwdupre13 жыл бұрын
I absolutely gasp every time I watch her do the single axel at the beginning of the program--simply perfect. It proves that in this day of triple and quadruple jumps and frantic footwork, a simple program consisting of one single jump, one double jump and three spins woven together with edgework--all done flawlessly--can still inspire.

Her posture and elegance is impeccable. It would be nice to see more modern skaters take more care about how they hold themselves while skating. Jumps are nice but if your back is hunched over too much and your skating is wobbly and out of line it just looks ugly.

Gracefully Endowed, her every move' Grace, It was Wondrously Inspiring to Witness Her performance. Some thing Spiritually moving in her performance. Not to confuse your love; She wasn't dancing for a people, but for some thing far greater that was far more inspirational in her. It was out of that we witnessed what seemed, appeared to be Angelic Flight on Ice. She wasn't the only one to be graced in such a manor. The short of it' Liken it to having a good upbringing, There was a day in when it was being sought for, looking for such things in a person, sort of hard at times to find that in people today.

Some people have sinus trouble when they age, and sometimes things get worse so she decided to have plastic surgery on her nose. My late grandmother had a nose that looked very much like a witch. Some times, people develop bony growths that can have a negative impact on their sinus.

Noelle Jordan I don't think that can be right. I just watched an interview she did with Larry King in 2004, in which she said that Dean and Jeannie always treated her like one of the family, and even after her divorce from Dean Paul she still had a good relationship with them. She even said that Dean always called her "sassy face!"
