apparently there really was a dorothy sayers....she positioned herself as the quantum mechanics option in distinction from agatha christie's classical mechanics version of detection stories......i can't follow dorothy sayers writings, she is determined to be so clever that she easily out-clevers me

A whole series! Lord Peter investigates a murder accusation against Harriet Vane, who is unconventional, a writer of detective stories and not interested in Lord Peter. Strong Poison is the first novel. I think Dorothy L Sayers identified with Miss Vane.
