Eines der zweifellos schönsten Zeugnisse der industriellen Vergangenheit in Deutschland ist die Zeche Zollern in Dortmund. Die Zeche entstand während der ersten Industrierevolution zwischen den Jahren 1898 und 1904 und gehört damals wie heute zu einer der architektonisch bemerkenswertesten Bergwerksanlagen des Ruhrgebiets. Beinahe wäre die Zeche in den sechzigern Jahren abgerissen worden, wäre man nicht auf das wohl spektakulärste Gebäude der ganzen Anlage aufmerksam geworden; die Maschinenhalle. eine für die damalige Zeit moderne Stahlkonstruktion im Jugendstil, die fortschrittliche Elektrotechnologie beherbergte, wo andere Zechen noch ohne arbeiteten. Ausser den technischen Anlagen sind besonders sehenswert die marmorne Schalttafel und der ovalförmige Haupteingang mit seiner bunten Verglasung, die beweisen, wie sehr man damals Wert auf Repräsentation legte.
Undoubtedly one of the finest examples of industrial heritage in Germany is the Colliery Zollern in Dortmund. The colliery was built during the first industrial revolution between 1898 and 1904 and then as now belongs to one of the most remarkable architectural mining plant in the Ruhr-area. Almost the colliery would have been demolished in the sixties if they would not have become aware of the most spectacular buildings of the entire plant; the machine hall, a for those time modern time steel structure in the Art Nouveau, which housed advanced electric technology where other mines still without it. Besides the technical equipment are well worth seeing the marble panel and the oval-shaped main entrance with his colorful windows that show how they put value on representation at that time.

Ein sehr schönes Video, indem die Leistungen unserer Vorfahren eindrucksvoll präsentiert werden. Vor ein paar Jahren habe ich einmal eine Kindergruppe dorthin begleitet, unvergessen bleiben mir die staunenden Augen und Begeisterung für die Technik. "Cool" fanden sie die Idee, das Frühstück unter die Decke zu hängen.

Hi, A very interesting film, so good to see the electrical machinery from long ago, things we will never see again, I remember diesel generating plants, from the Blackstone, Lister and Petter generation that was installed in many farms before they were connected to the mains. Regards, Bryan.
