Opening myself up for a lot of negativity but I designed and programmed this HAHAHA! Ah the PC was such a limited device. That said, I tried to keep this true to the comics. This was developed by a team of about 3 of us... (I am sure it shows) and pulled together in a few months before Christmas. In these days, you had to develop everything yourself: graphics drivers, extended memory management, etc. etc. For Paragon, it was the last Marvel games we did before our use of the license expired. The cover was drawn by Chris Wozniak thanks to my sister who lived in NYC. I had her go in to the old Marvel Comics HQ and ask him if he'd do it...and he did. For those who enjoyed it in the comments, thank you.. these were the days when you did for the love of games not the money.....

Thank you for sharing all of this. Yall's work on this game actually gives me a lot of inspiration from just watching these videos of it. I think it's very grandiose what yall accomplished back then and in such a short amount of time. I like how yall combined real-time arcade beat em up combat with more traditional pc top down strategy gameplay.

Thanks so much sharing! Which one of you did the scream and what was the inspiration behind it?

@@LingTinaTV You know... I honestly can't remember. I'd like to believe it was the CEO screaming at me to finish as the deadline for Christmas pressing came. Seriously, though... we had very limited disk space and digital samples took a lot of space. A 3.5" floppy had a woeful 1.44 MB of space. In those days, we didn't use efficient compression strategies such as MP3 and many files were left as raw files. Additionally PCs were too underpowered to support effective on-the-fly decompression and there weren't many tools available to encode. Hence, massive - albeit humorous - reuse....

I was like 3 or 4 playing this game and I hated it because I always died without knowing what was going on. Checking this out for the first time since I was a child and now I understand why I love Rogue style and Roguelike/lite dungeon crawler games! It was all thanks to this game lol. Use your hate as fuel, I guess.

I don't think the game was bad, It's have a charm and tons of characters to use 😁 Only outdated gameplay since time passed, But on game historical viewpoint it was worth to watch and play 🙂

The game is from 1991, and Wolverine still wears his 80's brown-yellow costume.

He switched back to the yellow suit in the comics in January 1992
