Thanks a lot for your video! I was having trouble installing W95 (because of the crashes at setup) and your video helped me

also, after you have your C: drive built, you can added IMGMOUNT commands to the AUTOEXEC section of your .conf file and it will load the image automatically when the .conf is selected as the boot option

To avoid the Fatal Exception 0E error on installation, disable ISAPNP in the config file then install normally. Once Window's is installed, then re-enable ISAPNP.

I made the fatal mistake of not reinserting the CD, and now Windows 95 is all fucked up, just like my life (at times).

Is there a way to mount an E: drive? What I tried to do was set up a main C: HD then a second D: storage HD, then a CD-rom, E:, but apparently it does not support the E: drive.

I may not understand this right. You should be able to mount folders or Image files assigned from C to Z. In Dozbox-x You can setup up your virtual drives just by clicking on the Drive tab but you must setup all you drives you want to use before you boot the C: drive\Windows after windows is loaded mounting virtual drives is disabled.

@@Alpha_Omega775- I figured out how to assign individual drives in the config file at startup. This is my current autoexec configuration, if anyone else is interested. This creates an extra D: and E: hard drives (4gb each) and F:, G: and H: CD-ROM drives, so 3 cdrom images can be loaded at all times. IMGMOUNT 0 622C.IMG -T FLOPPY -FS NONE IMGMOUNT f name of cdrom.iso -t iso -ide 2m IMGMOUNT g name of cdrom.iso -t iso -ide 3s IMGMOUNT h name of cdrom.iso -t iso -ide 4m IMGMOUNT 3 WIN95b.img -size 512,63,255,522 -t hdd -fs none IMGMOUNT 4 WIN95c.img -size 512,63,255,522 -t hdd -fs none IMGMOUNT 2 WIN95.IMG -size 512,63,64,520 -t hdd -fs none boot -l c:

@@Alpha_Omega775 If you want to run 16-bit programs in Windows 10 and beyond, use a program called WineVDM. All you have to do is extract WineVDM to a folder, and open the file called OTVDMW. In the new window that appears, navigate to the 16-bit program that you want to run and press Open. WineVDM can also run 16-bit installer programs as well. This saves you having to install Windows 95 just to be able to run those old 16-bit programs.

That is a new one. I do not know what that means maybe someone else here does. The best I can think is to reinstall and maybe try a deferent version of 95/98.

ran into this as well and it's a really easy fix! just click on "Browse" and point it to the cabinet file it's asking for in C:\WIN95.
@mieber31123 ай бұрын
for anyone that is still having this issue, you want to put C:\WIN95 in the "Copy files from:" area instead of the default D:\WIN95 that's how it worked for me at least
