Yes, Kenny Rogers Roasters was a real chicken chain, and oh my god, it was delicious!!! I used to eat there every Friday, and I still miss that place. It was cooked on rotisseries over hickory wood (I think), and Kacee will be happy to learn that their slogan really was "It's the wood that makes it good." (At 7:07 you can see it on the sack beside Kramer.) I did finally quit sitting at my window sill calling "Kenny? ... KENNY??" but I still wish he'd come back.

I love when Kramer leaves Jerry’s apartment, as soon as he opens the door, he gets knocked back as if the red light hit him that hard. Then he walks into it as if he was going against a strong wind. 😅. Hilarious!

And for more context, it went bankrupt and was bought by Nathan's Famous. The company closed Kenny Rogers Roasters for the same reason the bankruptcy occurred: rotisserie chicken became a staple in supermarkets and Kenny Rogers became seen as overpriced. When the US market dried up, Nathan's Famous sold Kenny Rogers Roasters to their Asian franchisee.

Ahh, Kenny Rogers' Roasters, i remember this restaurant chain from the 1990's. There was one in Burbank near NBC Studios and it was good chicken, but the chain went bankrupt as it could not compete with other chicken restaurants at the time like Boston Market, El Pollo Loco and others. Kenny lost money in the whole venture and the company was sold to a Malaysia-based company, so now it only exists in Asia.
