How interesting to see the contrast from how the neighborhoods are portrayed in the 1970 film which I'm watching for the second time. The squalor is replaced by apparent gentrification but the canal bears resemblance to the film portrayal. And as to steps, I've now got to see if the so-called Dostoyevsky Steps (heard of in other videos) refer to Rodion's realm or to Fyodor's. Thanks for the video.
