Doston Yokubov, 69kg lifter for Uzbekistan, lifting in preparation for the 2018 Asian Games. Some Notes:
-This video starts part way through his snatch workout
-In this workout Yokubov does snatch up to 140kg (2:01), clean and jerk up to 185kg (5:57) and backsquat double 205kg (7:01).
-In the event Yokubov did 145/186 and earned the silver medal.
-The intro/outro music is generic music purchased from a royalty free music site called Pond5. Music like this is not something you can find on youtube, itunes, spotify, etc.

Teleportation. He's so fast that if he wore a watch during training, he'd have to reset it after due to it being a few minutes behind. Fact.

The jump back is amazing... how he receives the bar so far back even with that movement backwards doesn’t make sense haha

why does his feet go backwards instead of staying at the same place ? ive seen other lifters do the same thing and was wondering why ? thanks in advance !

I think its because when the bar comes to the contact with his hips its not over the middle of the foot but more like over the heel or even behind the foot. But I could be wrong. It happens to me when I distribute the weight mainly over my heels, then I jump back too.

In my opinion it just “happens” as a result of his lift cadence..if you look close, the jump back is what puts him in his optimal position with literally no bar drop at the catch. If he were to stay in place he would most likely miss behind
