I added up Kafka's personal damage presented in this video! I subtracted Sampo's/Asta's DOT from her skill/ult triggers since her build doesn't influence those numbers other than talent levels. It's also interesting to see that they cleared quite similarly despite Critka's personal damage output being 100K+ more in waves 2 and 3. *Kafka DOT Personal Damage ---* wave 1 | 142,926 < 1 cycle wave 2 | 247,800 = 2 cycles wave 3 | 284,005 < 2 cycles *Critka Personal Damage ---* wave 1 | 148,645 < 1 cycle wave 2 | 372,327 = 1 cycle wave 3 | 385,611 < 2 cycles As the creator said, this is not a definitive test of which kind of build is better. Most notably, the DOT team is not optimized for using Asta, and someone like Pela probably would've been a better slot to represent its damage. Simply put, Kafka + Asta teams requires insane investment to beat DEF shredding. For reference, you want everyone in the team to have as similar SPD as possible and preferably 151+ SPD without Asta's buff (note: all of this applies to the Critka team as well, but is practically impossible). It's difficult to achieve, but pays off very well. In addition, Sampo and Kafka were simply lacking in overall stats in the DOT team. That being said, the critka build was not perfect either and these criticisms aren't meant to be directed at the creator to force them to do anything, but instead just notes based on my knowledge of Kafka's DOT capabilities. Feel free to make any corrections/arguments you see fit.

I agree with everything. I'm trying to improve both builds and I'm still testing. Kafka design is for DoTs, but DoT is expensive because it requires a significant investment, unfortunately.

@notHoyo Your builds are quite good so far! I spent 2000 trailblaze power on Kafka relics and I'm nowhere near happy with her relics for DOT 😭 building for Asta team especially is difficult, good luck!!

I'm not 100% sure but, the team comp wasn't ideal for both(?). Instead of Asta for the dot team take on another DOT character no? Like Luka or a character that benefits off of burn like Hook. And then for the crit comp, why not use Bronya instead of Asta again? Don't get me wrong I love Asta, but I just didn't think that her speed would benefit Kafka more than just Bronya giving an extra turn. Please correct me where I am wrong and explain the reasonings for why Asta is in the comp and any misunderstandings I have.

@@ethannguyen9638 Bronya only buffs one character at a time, while Asta buffs the entire team. With Asta, you can get 2-3 turns per cycle with EVERY character. Not only is this just more damage, but it also makes up for the extra sp usage. If you're giving an extra turn to Kafka, who will make up for that sp loss? Nobody, because Bronya isn't making anyone else fast enough to keep up. Triple DOT teams are fine with Kafka, but you can kind of think of it in the same way as a dual dps comp falls off compared to just buffing one dps. It's more overall damage to buff your existing DPS (Kafka & 1 DOT) than to simply run another unbuffed DOT character. Bronya isn't exactly bad for Kafka teams, either, especially in hypercarry; however, she is simply more valuable in other comps and most of the time theorycrafting is done with end-game content like Memory of Chaos in mind where you need two teams.

Kafka only has 89% dmg ratio on her ult as direct damage, any build that teaches you to go crit is misleading. Most of her damage comes from triggering her dot which does not crit

Both its good actually, Crit is for Talent and Skill dmg and DoT for Skill and Ultimate dmg. But honestly ppl whom pull Kafka known it well for have trash relic like me 😂, so DoT is so much better than being hard on Crit build 😂

Being able to have good dot damage while still having a good crit ratio is going to be tough on kafka. But when it's achieved the damage numbers are going to be crazy. Edit: I did not expect so many replies lmao, but I'm very impressed by everyones build, I'm still reaching for that goal and wish everyone else goodluck 😉

Honestly, both are good, crit probably has higher dmg ceiling, but hard to achieve Atk build is just easy, i managed to get a full set of the lightning set in just 240 worth of trail power for kafka, (got lucky with spd boots) So if you have godlike crit stats, probably go for that

The thing is with crit is it only works because the current DOT characters do not have that high numbers, kafka is a sub dps not a main dps but becuase we don't have a main 5 star nihil dps she isn't a sub dps ATM, crit is a horrible investment because while it is funny yes and does a good damage the dot build will always be 100 percent more optimal and future proof, if you put all your eggs into crti kafka I guarantee you will regret it down the line

Yeah, at this point of time, i spent too much time trying to improve QQ and jingyuan and they haven't even reach beyond 100% crit dmg, it's stupid, but kafka already perform just as good as them with a fricking 20 mins relics farming investment from the thunder domain vs jing yuan or QQ in the quantum domain that I spent weeks on it lol

I, on the other hand, sacrificed crit damage to get to 135 speed on Jing. Currently sitting at 97%. Using him and Kafka in my two teams as the DPS carries might not be optimal, but I'm having fun at least.

i think everyone will agree that if your kafka have 130 or more spd and 3000+ attack and sufficient EHR,attck build that has crit sub will be the best,at high investment i think it's possible to reach 1:2 crit ratio with attack% body as long as you reach the aforementioned requirement. DoT build will always dish out more overall damage.

I have 60/120 Kafka with 3k atk, just enough effect hit rate and 137 speed. I think that's probably the best combination?

The two builds are equally strong tbh. But farming DoT pieces is way easier My Kafka is currently at lvl 77 with 3200 atk, 137 spd, 48 + 22% Lightning dmg, Ultimate lv 10 with Signature LC. She deals about the same as crit build in this video.

Critka will be better mid max, the person in this video relics on crit build had a lot of atk% rolls. Dot build is just a lot easier to build and could be better with future dot characters.

if you are wondering which is best ATK% or Crit substat then the answer is both. the best possible relic for her should have Atk speed crit rate and dmg. atk increases her DOT activation dmg and crits help her actual skill/ult dmg

This isn't true. People have already done math on the differences between critka and dot kafka. DOT Kafka performs better and her ideal relic is atk%, SPD, Break Effect%, and Effect Hit Rate. Once you get enough EHR (varies depending on eidolons & lightcone), then crit as an additional stat is fine, although it won't increase her damage significantly. ATK also doesn't increase her "DOT activation," only talent levels do. It increases her personal DOT damage, however, which has a high multiplier of 224% at level 8.

@@daxrcy she doesnt need much ehr only about 14-18% @ e0 but around 40% on e1 i think for 100% dot application but if you have enough speed then by 3rd round without any ehr substat you have around 97% chance of applying her shock & erode from her lightcone and >90% chance at e1 to buff the dot dmg in 3 turns. +id rather break with sampo e4 than with her since her is better with break build and it allows me to put crit substats on kafka with atk% and speed substats. +atk% increses her own lightcone erode and shock DOT. and if you read my earlier comment i didnt say kritka > dotka

@xfrankenstein6981 I know you didn't say critka is better I was just pointing out there was math comparing substats on relics. And unfortunately you don't get to choose who you break with. In my experience Kafka finishes off the toughness meters on bigger enemies more than Sampo so the break effect is nice. Yes, if your Kafka very rarely breaks, then crit will be better. That's situational though. And yes you don't need a lot of ehr i never said you did. But an ideal Kafka relic would have it until ur needs are met. And an ideal Kafka relic would have max rolls into spd/atk% first. Not saying crit subs are bad at all, just that it's been calculated that crit subs are not "best" on Kafka.

Thank you for putting both builds up. I though I had some pretty nice pieces but not enough to match your stats. If you don't have an artifact with 4 good substats or one rolls into a bad stat it's joever. Going for Dot Kafka for now. Will revisit Crit Kafka maybe after thousands of more resin.

Most of those dmg isnt even from the crit attack :skull: it's purely because of how good tingyun is in helping kafka already high dot multiplier(290%) with the asta lc 24% elemental dmg and boosting atk unlike sampo which is sp negative and prob is less built than kafka in this vid

Man, I really hope this is a video explaining two builds, not just showcase Anyway, the reason why the crit build got faster clear is because of tingyun. If you got two or more supports alongside kafka, your crit build on kafka will works really well because: 1. It crits, crit dmg is obviously higher than normal 2. 3000> atk? No prob. Most supports boost your atk so atk won't be a problem 3. Tingyun REGENERATES kafka's energy. So kafka can ult more often, therefore more dmg input. Also the dmg boost. So yeah And why the DoT build loses? Well, cause maybe the sampo is not really well build in this video, so he can't provide the wind shear that kafka needs to boost her detonation. That's my thought on this video, I might be wrong on something so please correct me if that's the case

I put her with my Tingyun with Planetary Rendezvous LC and Jing Yuan. Its fun and thats all that matters. She will get stronger as I build her traces, I'm not too worried about building a DoT team just to use Kafka. I might invest some into my level 50 Serval and/or put the DoT LC on Gepard, but Im not building Sampo from scratch. I got enough projects as it is 😵‍💫. I shouldve just used my 50/50 on Blade, I couldve put him with anybody.

I like Asta ALOT. you'll never regret building her because she can fit mostly anywhere. I use her because I wanted Kafka to play more often and proc more DoTs. See if this makes sense for your team and go ahead.

Understood this video does not prove nothing since it is just a comparison but the reason why crit build does not look that bad is because the team is just better, sampo is not a good unit and luka is too single target, actually best way to play kafka is by using the dot build with characters like tingyun and not sampo, it just shows better results. However, probably is just cuz the substats are better but kafka y en dot team should be wearing 4pc of thunder set so thats another point to take into account

Crit build benefits from having crits and getting atk buffs which makes dots deal decent damage too on top of crits. If you don't have a heavy investment dot build, crit will feel stronger. I have very good relics for both (70/160 2.7k atk 135 spd/ 3.4k atk 151 spd 29 EHR 40 BE both builds using S5 GNSW) and even in a Hypercarry setup, DoT build does more damage. Tldr DoT outshines crit at high investment, crit feels stronger at lower investment.

There is only one best Kafka set. It is 3k attack, 136 speed, 60% crit rate, 150% crit damage and 30% effect hit rate. You can slap this Kafka on every team. She does high DoTs and high crits. It needs perfect relic rng stats but this is the only best set.

This video’s crit Kafka only had 100 crit damage, which is abysmally low. Other crit Kafka’s have performed at 40k+ per skill while still maintaining high DoT damage since it’s engrained within Kafka’s kit scaling off of attack. Edit: Went to confirm damage, and Critka can deal upwards of 80k on skill alone (E0).

Abysmally low is an overstatement. Kafka has no crit traces nor crit lightcones (unless you have Incessant Rain and its still only 12 CR). Achieving a nice crit ratio is going to be harder than on other characters, in this conditions, 60/108 is pretty average. She´s still great with a hypercarry build, where you can enjoy her even if you dislike DoT, but she´s tailor made for DoT

Eu uso taxa mesmo peguei uns artefatos muito bons (farmei desde o dia que o jogo lançou pra ela) e mesmo com build de taxa e ratio de 70/140 na taxa e dano critico ainda consigo ter 3500 de atk. Se for pegar o lightcone dela é bom tirar a bota de speed e botar atk% que nem eu fiz ja que lc dela da speed e você usa a Asta

Atk%. A lot of it. And build your DoT units like Sampo, Luka and even serval. Put your kafka with high spd so she can proc the DoTs often.

The most obvious of this is at high stats and SU, a Kafka with a 80% crit rate and over 200% crit dam was way weaker than the DOT kafka I used with over 5k atk and almost 200+ spd. Plus sure dot shreds anything. DOT + speed means the enemy never gets a turn. At higher ranks, DOT is so much stronger on her, plus when you have 3 characters that apply strong DOT , it gets even stronger as Kafka keeps proving it. Her crit damage is weak

As a Kafka main, crit DMG/rate is not necessary for her since her damage will come from the DoT that the enemies have.

Captain obvious, a theory crafter already stated a hybrid build will be better in the long run with good investment but at low investment dot will be ahead she can do good dot while having crit

My kafka can crit with 35 crit rate..and 85 crit dmg just good..with atk 3.5k

Crit isn't viable on Kafka if u know how to build her dot. your dot build isn't very good

I do agree that his dot build is lacking, he stated it's just a showcase not a build (as all KZbin videos should be, fuck meta) crit is still viable option, tried it myself, but dot just hits way different when you see different colors of number flash by your screen
