After finally getting to try Reforged, I can say that graphically it looks really crisp, detailed and beautiful with lots of subtle details! Videos don't do it justice.. As far as comparison goes, Dota 2 have better shaders and more advanced engine, but Reforged much more detailed models and crisper textures

If creator of the map won't change anything, they will. Old Warcarft 3 is just replaced with a newer model in Reforged. And you can have people who have different versions of Warcraft 3 (classic and Reforged) play together, they will just see different version of the units

DotA 2 shows the limit of Valve as designers. Their characters are bland, uninteresting and overly complicated. We know they just want to make custom skin for the heroes so they can't make the original look too good or no one would shell out money for better skin. Even DotA 2 spell effects are too flashy and more distracting than impressive. Just the little things are important too that DotA 2 didn't have, such as certain spell in Wc3 leaves effect on the ground like totem will leave cracks on the floor.

If you wants to bring the story in, it's even more depressing. DotA 2 has such a shallow story elements. The best I have seen is Tidehunter vs Kunkka, but that's the deepest it has ever went. I don't care much about the story, it's a competitive game so who cares. The issue is they trim out the little things but add in flashy spell such as you have iterated: echo slam left a flashy thing on the ground even though in DotA 1, a cracked earth and some shockwave would have been sufficient and has enough impact. Wc3 slam also morph the earth under him with some yellow flash coming out, a simple effect to deliver the impact of the animation while DotA 2 slap a big yellow flash under the character. In case you weren't aware, newcomers have cited spell effect galore as the reason why they don't like to watch DotA 2. It's too flashy to know what's going on. Make a more compelling argument about DotA 2 design.

Blizzard already has Heroes of Storm. They developed the game cuz they can’t make a sustaining MOBA that is directly patterned to dota because icefrog is ready tide with valve. Tho, they might be able to make one in a custom map, but not in its utmost potential. Concepts (skills, items, misc) is already owned by valve, therefore if reforge will make a dota, they will likely to get sued. Old warcraft dota was okay because it was part of the contract with the custom map policies, and it was made by icefrog and his crew.

Valve only have rights to "DOTA" name not models, not characters name. So if reforged create a custom map moba, it will not be name dota but their hero name and model still same to dota 1

Amben I can tell you are dumbshit 99% dota 2 characters design are based on their lore. Like Arc Warden (who is actually looked like a celestial) instead of talking furry dog, Kunkka (who is actually an admiral) instead of pirate, Storm Spirit a.k.a Raijin (the japanese God of thunder) instead of talking panda and etc. Anyway some dota 2 characters has a good design. Possibly way better than warcraft reforged like magnus, lycan, slardar, venomancer and viper. Also in this video, they put Dota 2 Drow Ranger an old model
