Hellzone grenade actually looks awesome, that grenade rain genuinely looks like a good strat with a pretty high skill ceiling, although it'd propably profit from using the 2nd dupli Slot as a movement or defensive technique like platform pull.

the smoke bomb is made out of gunpowder so it can interact with other abilities. this game is built around ability combos, the dev even planned on removing multiple abilities because they weren't combining well, including the smoke bomb, though to my knowledge in all those cases he just changed them a bit. in the smoke bomb's case he made it a grenade.
