I enjoyed this presentation, not only the topic is very interesting, but the style is awesome. Congrat. I have a question for you: say we have a moving spherical coordinate system, like on Earth (constant speed of rotation around the z axix), how would you include the acceleration of the moving coordinate system into your final equations? I have an idea for that but I would like to cross check that with you. Thanks for your help!

Cool! ...and tedious. (;

VERY tedious - that's very true.

Very clear derivation! I'm currently doing my master's thesis in aerodynamics and am trying to derive a model for the dynamics of an energy-generating kite. The tether means that spherical coordinates are the most practical option. This was a very good refresher!

Thank you enormously! You've explained it so fluidly and made it into a very accessible shape, I love it. I wish more people could have been blessed with teachers like you!
