What a great tribute to your uncle and a great donation to an up and coming bee keeper! That was cool how they came to great the queen versus attacking. That Apimaye hive is a really convenient hive for combining if you find one side queenless. I spent far too much time in Altus, OK training throughout my AF career! Another Excellent video Jerome!!🪱🪱🪱

Hey Patrick. Yeah, I wish my uncle would have been here to see it. He was a giving man for sure. Hopefully I can get it to him soon. Yeah, that's a queen testing trick, I'm surprised I thought of it. lol I've seen them pounce on a queen, when they do that you need to get her out quick, because they will kill her fast. Altus, that's like the hottest place on earth! LOL That's cool, I work with a bunch of retired AF, and also a lot of AF officers. I'd be interested to hear about what you did in AF some time. Have an awesome weekend!

I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is always hard. I'll be keeping you and your family in my prayers. Michael getting his own hive is exciting. He is going to have so much fun and you would be able to be a mentor to him and show him the ropes of beekeeping❤

Thanks you Djon, yeah, he was a really nice and giving man, hard to see him gone. Michael will sure be glad to get it as well, and I'll try to help him out. There's another beekeeper not too far from him as well that can assist I'm sure - another baptist preacher like my uncle. lol Thanks for watching.

Sorry for your loss. It is nice to give an apimaye hive. He will really enjoy it. You are right on the wind this year. I am grafting some this weekend and hope the wind cooperates when they hatch for mating flights. Still seeing some flow here but definitely slower. Take care.

Thanks Geezbeez. I'm hoping to get it to him this weekend possibly. He has a hive, so I'll just install the frames into what he has. Good luck with that grafting. I'm nursing a few swarm cells here, hopefully they are successful. Thanks for watching.

Those bees always seem to throw us curveballs. LOL That is a nice gesture to honor your uncle and I hope Michael enjoys his new bees.

Hey Russell. yeah, the bad side turned out to be a drone layer for sure as they all turned into bullet comb. The queen is laying nicely from the good side, just need some brood and build up some comb in there now. It should be a good hive in a few weeks. I might give him one of the other stronger ones from the swarms to speed things up. Thanks for watching.

Hi Jim. She's laying good now, and that bad side all developed into drones, so definitely combining was the right call. Just need to get them built up a bit more and some good comb. Thanks for watching.
