Double Bass Essentials: Gear for New Players

I just got a new bass after not having one or playing for 35 yrs so this is great. I forgot some of the 'bits' My bass is a T and G Martin, which I commissioned. It sounds ,feels and looks incredible.i made sure to get a properly padded soft case, and hard bow case, and WHEELS ! still looking for the right stool though.... but I wanted to thank you because in my exciting run up to my bass being ready I watched loads of your videos, and not only did it restart my whole brain about playing, but I also learned SO MUCH ...THANKYOU!

I use nail-polish remover to clean the strings on my bass and the hairs on my bow. This was recommended to me by my very first teacher.

I’ve not tried it on bow hairs…does it mess up the hair at all?

@DaveVergato I have not noticed any deterioation in the condition of the hairs on my bow after cleaning.
