This is such a game changer! I've loved double boarders for a long time, but HATE starting them. I've tried multiple methods and invented several of my own...but none of them came even close to as easy as this looks! THANKYOU!

Im always impressed and touched by people, from all over the world, who go to so much trouble to explain their amazing techniques in crochet (and knitting), and then make it available for us for free! So much to learn, so uplifting. Thank you

I , too , appreciate ladies and gents sharing quite unique skills and designs - their heart of arts - from all over the world. I am not afraid to watch a video with a foreign title or foreign language spoken in it. My eyes can read every word their hands are saying. All except two of the gazillion videos I've watched, and saved to my library, were not good at lighting, or showing, and demonstrating pertinent points throughout their filming. I dare say many of them are much better than any English as a first language speakers. It is true that English as a second language speakers , EASLs, are in fact from countries where there is much more oral tradition and the tradition of passing on handskills, handcrafted arts, attention to details... it's as if the love of and for the ancestors and of their lands is being passed down through generations and is sacrosanct. It's like they are loving us and showing us the hospitality of their hearts. They love their arts and they love to present it to the world.

A suggestion for working the i-cord, instead of guessing the tail length use both ends of the yarn, inside and outside. tie them together in a slip knot and work as usual.

My tip for working into the back bump of the chain is to make the chain with a bigger hook and then switch to a smaller one, and the bumps are easier to enter.

Hello, it’s a very good way to start this border… I’ve learned a log time ago to start this border with a row of half double crochet all around the blanket than use the back loop for the back side of the border and the front loop for the front side, works very well to😊

I am trying to finish the Square away blanket but the pattern doesn't give any indication that I'm supposed to be starting or ending my rows to look like what's in the video. and then this is 20 minutes of info that isn't helpful to the border info. Really frustrating.
@BebaBlanketАй бұрын
I am sorry, l don't understand the reason for your frustration The pattern includes the links to overlay mosaic crochet basics. Are you saying this video tutorial is too long and not useful? Sorry to hear that.... l can't show and explain everything in 40 sec short. If you prefer written basics, you can download these too. The links are included in the pattern as well. Or is that too much of the reading? That's the most favorite way to start the border for thousands. I guess it's not for everyone, still. You don't have to use it if you don't like it. Or if you like it, but you don't wish to invest some time ..... how will you learn it.... I do invest my personal time to share my knowledge with you all. And l do not question myself if it was worth it! The knowledge is priceless. I am happy so many people understand that and appreciate ❤️❤️❤️
@loridmillerАй бұрын
@@BebaBlanket Yes, the frustration is that the video is very long but also that you explain a way to start and end the rows in here that is not at all covered in the blanket pattern itself. So many people, like me, come here to learn about the border after they've finished the blanket only to learn that they haven't been doing it correctly the entire time in order to use this pattern. Now I have to figure out if I can fix the row ends to maybe salvage being able to use this pattern or if I just try something else. In your blanket patterns it might be helpful to suggest watching this before you start to understand the fundamentals you'll be building. You ask us to use a csc but in your patterns it was a stsc at the start and a sc at the end. That's a lot to correct for hundreds of rows. I'm not questioning your knowledge or ability but the clarity of steps could be improved especially on the blanket patterns themselves.
@BebaBlanketАй бұрын
@@loridmiller I understand! It's always a good idea to read the entire pattern through BEFORE you start your project. Right under the paragraph "stitches & abbreviations" is written: "If you are using my “Double Border. Easy Start. Three Magic Steps” technique to make a double border around your project, the first stitch (st) on every row (R) is always a standing center sc (stcsc), the last stitch (st) on every row (R) is always a center sc (csc). You will find more information in the file “Double Border. Easy Start. Three Magic Steps” (see the paragraph “Mosaic crochet basics & useful links”). And then a bit lower: "IMPORTANT! If you plan to work a double border, read the instructions and watch the video tutorial “Double Border. Easy Start. Three Magic Steps” before you start your project". "before" is written in bold font. I am not sure what else I could add?
@loridmillerАй бұрын
@@BebaBlanket I acknowledge it's there but for someone tackling a mosaic for the first time that's a ton of information to keep track of. Why not just write the pattern to include the stcsc and csc? It would be a more secure end for the rows and would save your users pain and heartache
