Nothing better than rich business men with no military experience, made officers , I don’t know how in the hell the union won the war , glad they did but I bet you it was close !!

The Union won because the corrupt southern government and their nepotism doomed them to ultimate defeat. Less capable officers were constantly being promoted because of who they knew or what state they were from. They got lucky at first but by Gettysburg it caught up to them.
