I love, love, love this song (arcade & NES version). I used to play this game JUST to enjoy this song/track.. but this is still the best of the two. Thanks for posting this.. really made my morning (Rocked arcade DD2 yesterday on emu)

@@MegaBubble Well you have to remember the controls to Double Dragon 2 were almost exactly the same as the controls to Technose Japan's classic RENEGADE aka Nekketsu kouha kunio-kun (in Japan), released about 1 year prior to Double Dragon 1. Renegade & Double Dragon both have a final boss who is armed with a gun.

@@MegaBubble I agree and thought this too. Although even Double Dragon still had this system with regards to flying kick, where for no reason at all you needed to press punch or kick if you wanted to flying kick to the left or the right. Double Dragon II's controls do feel a bit dated compared to Double Dragon 1, however I think what is worse is the weapons. Picking them up means you can't do ANY other move except flying kick, no idea why they would stop you using elbow, super jump kick etc. Having said that, for some unknown reason, enemies can throw the shovel and often they throw it away off screen before they have even managed to get on the screen. I also think the backkick looks odd, in Renegade it's a nice looking kick but in DD2, it's a strange exactly rectangle shaped leg and honestly just looks odd. The roundhouse kick is cool however.

This theme is like the Bay Area theme from Final Fight. Both have the dramatic and melancholic vibe of the anger and sadness born of the love towards a girl who one feels is in danger. I can't put it into words very well but it is something that was very common in the 80's, when many girls were innocent and had a powerful feminity, when true love still existed, and one thought about a beloved girl, turned red, and if someone wanted to hurt her, only thinking about that, a mix of love, anger, passion and sadness burned into the heart. I always remember that feeling when I listen to this kind of music. Now I don't see girls towards I can have that feeling anymore 😑.
