Only one word: JEALOUS
@MrKveite1Ай бұрын
Well i have been fishing salmon in the Gaula, Orkla and surrounding rivers here in Norway since 1974 so yes i am REALLY jealous over a couple small salmon caught in Iceland....

I like your single speys if that's what they are, I do mine the same way. I can't help but think more side pressure could have tamed the fish a little quicker though?

Great video and two amazing fish, wow!! How much larger was the second salmon? How long did you have to fight the fish before you were able to net them?
@FlyFishingbyRobertАй бұрын
Thanks. The first was 75 cm and the second 83 cm. About 10 minutes and 15 minutes I think.

Hey Robert 👋🏻, I’m looking for a new reel ( soft bait ) and I knew you were the best person to ask. Do you have any recommendations?
@rongreen1538Ай бұрын
Fantastic fishing, I wonder what those fish weighed? Thank you for sharing your adventures.
@FlyFishingbyRobertАй бұрын
Thanks. Maybe around 4 kg and 5,5-6 kg but we only did measurements
@rongreen1538Ай бұрын
@ They both looked at least 5kg and maybe 6kg. I think that weight is a better measure than length, those two fish good examples, not so long but deep in girth. Great place to fish, so jealous.

Perhaps reason for tying running line to shooting head and leader to tip is to eliminate snags through guides. Big line, big tip and even leader is 25lb … All is good but I really like your sophisticated sea run hunts and your singlehanders. You are master!

19990 ISK per person. You have to buy both cards for the day. Then you have the stretch for yourself.

Just a simple question. I’m from New Brunswick Canada. We have large rivers and large salmon as well. We fish from long canoes. 26 ft. It makes getting around easier. Why not use a canoe or boat in Iceland?

Hmmmm, do you even know why you are using a sling Robert? I will let you know just to make sure. It's there because INSTANTLY when you feel a fish you let it go. It's job is to let the fish turn BEFORE you tighten the line increasing the chance to hook the fish in the scissors by 90%. If you are unable to let it go then stop using it and set the break to almost nothing meaning the fish pulls line and turns before you have the time to tighten the break on the reel. Both methods will reduce what just happened with that first fish by a LOT.Your instant hook sets will only hook the most aggressive fish and will cause the loss of most salmon that are a bit lazy or a bit more careful and even if fishing is fun. Catching is more fun. Think about it and let me know how it sounds to you. When that's said nice healthy small salmons and good stuff:)
@Roolis77Ай бұрын
Exactly - I wanted to comment the same - if you keep loop in a finger just use that loop on purpose . If you do not want to use a look just put reel brake off and let it free for a fist meeter or so then stop the line with finger and lift the rod. Sure you need big nerves for it , but this is how you become salmon head ..

Hi, Robert, I don't know why I offer to help with advice and questions, but you never answer. That's embarrassing. Have a nice day.

Hello. As far as I can see you have made two comments on my channels videos and none has had any advice or question. Just trying to understand what you mean.
