Introduction
In an action-packed few weeks, TacNTrack’s Dirt Douber took on not one, but two new transmissions during the USCA Sprint Car races. We’re covering the thrilling double header from June 21-22, 2024, as well as the race on June 29 at Buckshot Speedway in sunny Clanton, Alabama.
The Transmission Swap
After a lot of anticipation, we finally swapped in a manual transmission into our 2001 Dodge Neon Buzz 4 race car. Unfortunately, the transition didn’t go as smoothly as we had hoped. While we were excited for the new setup, the racing experience turned out to be a wild ride-literally!
Race Highlights
June 21, 2024: The first night of the double header saw us battling for position. We managed to finish in the top 5, but the race was fraught with challenges, from handling issues to difficulties with gear shifts.
June 22, 2024: The second night brought similar trials. While we again secured a top 5 finish, it was clear that the new transmission wasn’t cooperating as expected. We struggled to find our rhythm, with gear changes that felt more like a wrestling match than a smooth transition.
June 29, 2024: At Buckshot Speedway, we hoped to have ironed out the kinks. However, despite finishing in the top 5 once more, the night ended with the dreaded sound of another transmission blowing up. It was a frustrating conclusion to a promising night.
Conclusion
Despite the setbacks, including handling issues and transmission failures, we showed resilience by finishing strong in all three races. The experience felt like racing with one hand tied to the shifter and the other on the wheel-challenging yet exhilarating!
As we regroup and prepare for future races, we’re determined to get the Dirt Douber back in top shape. Thanks to all our fans for your continued support. Stay tuned for updates as we tackle the next challenges on the track!
